Kyma Suites Beach Hotel

The hotel is our best experience among many trips to Crete in the last 15 years. We chose this hotel visually a year ago while walking around the old town of Rethymno, but booked the room on Booking.com already 9 months ago in winter. The hotel had gave us a room on the top floor with the most magnificent panoramic view of the old town, harbor and beach. For this, we are happy and sincerely grateful to the hotel staff. The five-star hotel has renovated, modern and comfortable rooms, where we were welcomed with wine, on Sunday morning champagne is offered with lightly salted salmon. The menu is diverse, the food is delicious. At breakfast, fresh orange juice is offered on the table, the waiter of the restaurant brings the requested coffee or herbal tea with honey. The cook bakes and brings to the table an omelette made from the required ingredients or egg. Every night there is a different cuisine - fish night, Greek, Cretan, international vituve, etc. The food does not get boring during the week, because it is varied. Only the wine selection could be wider. If you want dry wine, there are only a few real choices. The main hotel's restaurant quality is enjoying food and drinks without rush and crowds. Hotel guests have the opportunity to attend the wonderful Rethymno city beach for free, where the hotel together with the Kriti Hotel has its own territory and can relax comfortably on sunbeds under an umbrella. The hotel staff, especially at the reception, is exceptionally responsive. Even the guest manager comes to the restaurant to learn about the guest experience and suggestions for improvement. We loved this hotel very much and will definitely return. Already next year! It's great!

Food and staff

Don’t think it warranted 5 star hotel

Convenient location to visit Rethymnon downtown and the region. Nice room (Junior Suite), clean, well equiped, with sea view. Great breakfast. Missing a better food selection for dinner and more 'select' athmosphere in the restaurant for a 5 stars hotel.

Great view over marina & Venetian harbour. Nice room with balcony & great food at breakfast & room service. Easy walk to old town Rethymno & restaurants & fortress.

Water front is too touristy & noisy for our taste. Not our kind of holiday destination as too busy. Beaches packed and unappealing.

The property is perfectly located on the edge of old town. It's clean and the rooms are done well. The staff was extremely helpful and nice.

The property is on perfect location. At the beginig of the walking area. Everthing was near by: restorants, supermarkets and the beach.

The hotel has no own parking place but you can easily find in the near streets and also big parking at the port.

Kyma Suites is a cozy boutique hotel very close to the old town of Rethymno. This is a big plus for fast exploring the vibes of this charming litte town. We liked very much the staff (always smilling, and ready to help). Also, the food was very good. Plenty of choices for the dinner (fish&seafood-grilled or oven dishes; fresh vegetables and fruits; tasty starters and sweets). The breakfast was also very good (poached eggs were great). Keep in mind that this is not a big AI(all-inclusive) hotel, where food quantity prevails over quality! Thus, the effort of selecting and using quality ingredients was present at Kyma, and the food&restaurant experience, in my opinion, is close to a 5* hotel. The room was spotless clean, and the sea view with the small balcony is a must (city view is definitely not so impressive). The size of the room is decent enough, although the bathroom is small (standard double). We expected to be more noise from the city at night, but surprisingly this was not an issue on a sea view room. For the beach, which is a shared one with Kriti hotel, it would be great if the management will consider bigger unbrellas (not much of a shade for the Cretan heat). All in all, Kyma Suites delivers a 4* room experience mixed with a 4-5* restaurant experience. We enjoyed it and recommend!

Great breakfast, great location!

Pool was not interesting!

The location

The hotel does not have ammeaties of a 5 stars hotel. The pool is small and the beach is quite far away, you need to walk in the central road and pass it, has heavy traffic. The beach is organized but the quality it’s poor (next to a center for water sports, people are adding all Kinds of improvised shades which gives the entire place a very cheap air). Also, there is a lady at the reception (add kilos and glasses) that acts like a police officer rather than helping clients. A true gym they are not providing towels
