The Ormond At Tetbury

Cosy, comfortable, friendly staff. The location was great for the great tythe barn where the wedding we were attending was.

We popped here for lunch before returning home to S. Wales. The food and service was great. Special thanks to one of the bar staff, Holly. She was lovely and so polite.

We weren’t staying at the hotel but ate in the restaurant one evening. The food was disappointing and our waitress was rude/unpleasant when I politely explained the problems. As you have to pay when ordering food, the bill is paid so neither the waitress nor her supervisor cared that we were unhappy.

I stayed one night at the Ormond Hotel, The staff were all so friendly throughout my stay. When I arrived the guy at Reception was busy on the phone with someone making a booking, instead of me having to wait until he had finished the call another member of staff, came to check me in, I believe her name was Jordan? I was shown to my room, and given a little tour (remote controls explained etc) which was a nice personal touch. My room was off the courtyard and was beautiful and because the courtyard and outside area looked so pretty I immediately went outside to make a video to send home, but I locked myself out of my room! This wasn't a problem, I went back to the reception/bar and Jordan immediately got the master key and let me back in. I ate in the Bistro and the meal was superb. The young waitress was so helpful and friendly, sadly I didn't get her name, but she was lovely and put me at ease, being on my own. The Reception, Bar, Bistro, outside area and my room were all beautifully decorated to a high standard. My room was lovely, however there was some peeling paint in the corner of the bathroom and a couple of marks on the wall by the bed which, given the high standard of decor did let it down a bit. I also couldn't see that there was a socket for the hairdryer by the big mirror, unless I wanted to crawl underneath the chest of drawers with the tea and coffee tray on. I used the socket at the desk and the art installation mirrors, but that wasn't ideal, so a socket by the mirror would help. The bed was so comfortable as well. I would definitely choose the Ormond if I return to Tetbury again and would recommend. Thank you to all the staff who made me feel so welcome, it was a very enjoyable stay 😊
