Iconic hotel in a superb location right on the Balcon De Europe in central Nerja. 9 floors with the 6th floor being the entrance from the Balcon and 0 being the beach. It is very popular and with a ‘more mature’ clientele. The rooms and decor fit this demographic and are a bit dated and chintzy but very clean and offer superb sea views if you choose one. The beach is small and also public but loungers, parasols and towels are provided to guests. There is a sun lounger area overlooking the sea and beach on the 5th floor and this has a small infinity pool. This is open from 10am accessed via your key card and avoids (to some extent) the dreaded sunbed towel claim at dawn! It’s ‘cosy’ but offers great views. We were on a B&B basis and the buffet breakfast on offer was very very good, loads of choice and again with superb views out to sea from the 6th floor. We had lunch twice, for convenience, but it was expensive and service is ‘pedestrian’ at the Balcon level outdoor public restaurant/bar. In summary, we had a lovely stay as a 60 yr old couple but I wouldn’t recommend it as a family hotel due to a small beach, ( smaller still when the sea is rough) smaller plunge-type infinity pool and a clientele (with respect) that would probably prefer it to be adults only. I wouldn’t take my grandchildren there, horses for courses’ but my wife and I really enjoyed it and the location is excellent as are the breakfast and the views.

Location, access to beaches, inclusion of breakfast made it very convenient to start the day, staff were very helpful and friendly.

The lifts could be confusing as they were not located side by side.

Room was small. Car park was payable.

Die Lage ist nicht zu übertreffen auch wenn man das Auto ein paar Schritte entfernt im öffentlichen Parkhaus abstellen muss ist das kein Problem Dort - direkt am Balkon de Europa - zu übernachten wo alle anderen Besucher sich drängen für einen Moment der Erinnerung ist schon besonders Das Hotel selbst ist 🔝
