Glenville House

Lovely long weekend in a really nice B&B run by a very nice friendly couple. The room was large and comfortable and included a mini fridge with fresh milk and lemon water which was replaced daily. The Kendal mint cake left on the pillows each day was a nice touch as were the homemade cookies in the cookie jar in the room and the cookies and cake in the entrance to the property. Fantastic breakfast. Location is great being a short stroll to either Bowness or Windermere. We will definitely stay again if we return to the area.

Had a nice relaxing weekend away at Glenville house, beautiful place in a great location within walking distance of Lake Windermere, shops, restaurants and pubs. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and even offer homemade cake and biscuits free of charge in the entrance hall and in the rooms.

Booked 4 rooms for a family birthday celebration, the owners were very helpful and friendly and the accommodation has been decorated to a very high standard. The B&B is situated on a hill leading down to the lake so there is a bit of walking, but hey thats why most of us visit and wasnt a problem to us. The complimentary cookies and cakes were appreciated and the little touches, milk and water in the fridge, birthday bottle of prosecco etc went a long way. Thanks for a great stay would definitely recommend this B&B to friends and family.

Excellent weekend

Glenville House is a charming B&B that has everything you need and more. Our stay was very pleasent and comfortable. Fresh homemade biscuits in our room was an unexpected delight. Fresh milk and water in the fridge everyday! Homemade biscuits and cakes at reception for us all to enjoy,was a first! The rooms are very clean and the breakfast fabulous. Location perfect. Ten minutes in one direction to bowness and 20 minutes to Windermare in the opposite direction.Peter the owner is a charming man and made us feel at home. If ever we were passing through,we would definitely stop in and say hello.

Lovely location between Bowness and Windemere. Can walk to both. Hosts are wonderful and extremely helpful, breakfast delicious and accommodation was lovely. I would recommend it highly!

We arrived by motorbike and were warmly welcomed. The complimentary homemade cakes in the hallway, topped up each day were a lovely touch. We had the smallest of the rooms (I think), though we were not disappointed. Light and airy with a place to fit everything conveniently. Bathroom was extra tiny but very usable & had a great shower. Breakfast was excellent, including homemade jams and fluffy croissants. Honestly, this couple have thought of everything that goes into making the perfect B&B. Even the Wifi worked well.

Friendly host/proprietor. Comfortable small hotel with nice touches such as homemade biscuits in the room. Well placed between Windermere and Bowness we were easily able to walk to the latter where there are plenty of good restaurants. I would recommend this establishment and would happily use again if we were planning a trip to the lake again.
