We had a pleasant stay. Our room was large. But so was the price. Nice breakfast. If you're looking for an old fashioned Scottish stay this is for you.

It was expensive.

The common parts in the hotel are beautiful and the staff were friendly although not overwhelming so - we weren't asked how our room was, which was fortunate.

Room 410. Smelt of urine, gap in room door so big it let the light in, mushroom coloured bathroom needs ripping out, water tepid and water pressure minimal, bed has a board under the mattress and is incredibly uncomfortable. Dog next door barked the whole time its owner was at breakfast. Breakfast swimming in oil. Was glad to get going.

Our room was at the back of the hotel very very dated shower inadequate , old bed

The dinner is the bar was excellent - haggis, neaps and tatties, worth travelling all that way for. We have stayed a few times over the years when travelling south from Ullapool off the afternoon ferry from Stornoway.

We requested the ground floor room due to my wife's recent hip replacement operation. Unfortunately the mattress was worn out - the springs were weak.
