Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel

Another home from home experience. The staff are all exceptional - professional and friendly. Special mention to Precious and Oratile.

My room was neat and clean loved the stay, thank you staff. I will come again and will most definitely choose this hotel for leisure to spend some time with my family next time.

No towels in 1 room, no working bathroom lights in our other room, bar pricing targeted at international guests - won't be back

Location is superb, room impeccably clean, nice membership treats, dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were excellent. Special mention to Chef Thulisile who went the extra mile to plate a delicious vegetarian platter THANK YOU!

The most appalling service. It was a business trip, and even our clients who came to visit at the hotel were shocked at the lack of service. People on their phones, unattentive, you practically had to beg to be attended to.

I stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton, and my experience was far below the standard expected from a hotel of this reputation and price. On the first night, I was served undercooked pasta and a stale, dry almond cake. Breakfast the next morning was equally disappointing — I asked for sunny-side-up eggs and was served undercooked, slimy eggs. I switched to scrambled eggs, which were just as poorly made. Even the fruit was not fresh — the papaya was soft and close to spoiling. The room itself didn’t meet expectations either. The shower had extremely low water pressure, and the water was almost cold by the time it reached me. Water pressure is only good in the early morning. On the second night, I ordered the slow-braised lamb shank. When I asked — lightheartedly — if it was falling off the bone, the receptionist responded rudely and smugly, saying, “I hope so.” She then brought me the wrong order (lamb chops), and resolving this turned into a long, frustrating process. I spent most of the night speaking to multiple staff members (almost 5 different people), going back and forth to get a refund. The price difference was around R60, and I was initially offered a cool drink as compensation for the difference — completely unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. When I eventually received the correct dish, the lamb shank was tough, very small in portion, and extremely overpriced at R345. After complaining again, and refusing to accept a cooldrink, they did hesitatantly refund me which has still not reflected in my account and can not be validated. This was my second stay at this hotel, and sadly after this experience, I won’t be returning. I strongly suggest reconsidering if you're thinking of staying here — the food quality, service, and responsiveness to issues are not what you'd expect from the Radisson.
