"Avoid basement rooms with the smell of mold"

We had booked a room for 2 nights at this 5* hotel. The classic room turned out to be in the basement, but with a window/door out to a tiny terrace. The smell of mold was really bad and we could not stay in that room. To get another room we had to pay 350€ extra per night. Total rip off, as we had already paid 550€ per night. We asked to talk to the manager, and we also asked to get our money back so we could stay at another hotel. None of these was possible. The other room was much better, but far from worth the price. It was mold in the shower, but at least the room did not smell of mold. It pretty much ruined the start of our holiday and we will of course never come back to this hotel or recommend to anybody. The location is quite good. We did not try the restaurant as we wanted as little as possible to do with the hotel.

We went to eat lunch at Villa Blu Capri on July 21, 2025. The restaurant had a cute, charming atmosphere. The daily menu specials included homemade lasagna and fettuccine alfredo with chicken. The food was good and our server was friendly.. We ordered lasagna, fettuccine alfredo with chicken, bottled water, coke zero, and peach tea. The shock came when our bill arrived. The service fee was $19. This is a 35% upcharge! The meal cost $41 and then we had a $19 service fee. A mandatory $19 service fee is ridiculous. What a ripoff! Think twice before eating here.

Stunning accommodation! Comfortable bed, spacious room and bathroom. The staff were all very nice. The pool area was relaxing and beautiful. Location is fantastic right in the centre of Anacapri. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location in Anacapri is fantastic. Right on the high street yet the rooms are quiet and peaceful. The staff is super friendly and they have a nice breakfast each morning.

This property is not only far from a 5-star hotel standard, it’s a literal health and safety hazard. Upon checkin we are shown to our standard room, where we find dozens of ants crawling both in the bedroom and in the bathroom. We call front desk and they said they’ll send a maid to spray them… we return and there’s still ants but we’re exhausted at this point and let it be. We find the room to be too warm and humid and called again to ask someone to check our AC they said they’ll fix it on their end and to call back if any issues. We fall asleep due to our jet lag and are woken up at 2AM from the miserable heat. We call down to ask someone to come fix immediately and the guy says “Yeah I told you to call me back if any issues”. Anyways they finally send us to a temporary suite to sleep for the rest of the night. Next day we talk to the manager and explain everything who lets us to continue our stay in the suite (we only had 1 night left anyways). Even the suite is still humid and moldy in the bathroom area but at this point we’ll take it. On our last day, we check out and have a drink in the lobby bar before we depart, and there is a LIVE MAGGOT crawling on the seat. The waiter wipes it off after I say something (not sure if she actually understood what I was pointing at) as if no big deal. We were so glad to be leaving. I truly don’t know how this place became a 5-star hotel.
