Zuurberg Mountain Village

Location was amazing, staff super friendly and helpful. Food was lovely!

Didnt have hot water on our second morning.

Gravel road for 16km quite bad. Use a car with good tyres.

Well appointed lodge with everything we needed in a beautiful and peaceful location. The food was excellent backed by 5 star and friendly service.

We had an awful experience where there was a fight between staff right outside our room at night. Keeping us awake and very tired the next day. It was highly unprofessional. What’s more, they charged R400 per person for dinner which is an exorbitant amount of money to pay.

Breakfasts were good. Bed was comfortable.

No WiFi in the rooms - only in the public areas of the hotel. Now that may not necessarily be a bad thing but the weather was awful so we spent the best part of a day in our room with intermittent mobile data - think the altitude had something to do with that and the cloud cover. We have all learnt to entertain ourselves by accessing the Internet so when that is non existent it is problematical! Strange water heating hours so even when the water is supposed to be hot it is never beyond tepid - showering was not great. When booking ask for rooms numbered evenly - best views and protected from the SEaster. The uneven numbered rooms overlook the valley with an array of pylons and the wind blows directly onto the "view" verandah. Buffet supper at R400 per head is not worth it. Same buffet for Sunday lunch is priced at R245. Not all bad but will not be returning!
