Manning Park Resort

We always like going to Manning Park as we have been coming to the Park and staying at this Resort frequently for the over 30 years, so it has a lot of memories for us. The rooms are sparse but comfortable and clean. There are no elevators which is fine for us, but just so you are aware.

We had a really disappointing experience with checkout staff this time. Both of them were very unconcerned and not caring. We needed a printout receipt on discharge, and even though we booked with Booking.Com, the payment was entirely through Manning Park Resort on site. The check out staff refused to give us a receipt stating they can't because we booked via booking.com. We mentionned, but you are the ones who took the payment and processed it. They still refused and even refused to email a receipt. When I wanted to show them the part in the specific booking.com reservation where it says if you need the receipt urgently, ask the staff of the location, they didn't even want to look at it, or help. I asked them if I could speak to their manager, they said they didn't have any on site that day (Thursday) or the rest of the week, and when I asked for a card, they said there wasn't one. I wouldn't have felt so horrible if they seemed at least a bit sympathetic, concerned or wanting to help. It felt like talking to 2 people who were looking down on us and our request and couldn't care less. In the end, I had to request via email via booking.com and got the receipt emailed from the facility via booking.com, but that type of non-hospitality interaction was very off-putting. Hopefully management can educate their checkout staff a bit more both on policies with booking.com and also on how to make a guest feel heard and valued and not feel like we are just an idiot hassle for them. If management doesn't want their front staff to give out receipts to Booking.com customers, this should be told to the guest on check-in, or on their site description on booking.com

Beautiful location, everyone was very friendly and it felt like a winter wonderland. Trails and access to pool, restaurants and shops were easy and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Our room was standard, two Queen, and we would love to return to try some of the bigger rooms and cabins which looked great when we were exploring the resort. We will be back to ski as we met some local ski patrol and they shared how great the mountain is.

We were able to book online when we arrived at Manning and the price online was lower than the level quoted when we inquired at the front desk. It would have been easier to book direct with the hotel as were already there.

I liked having the hiking trails close and using the sauna afterwards.

The food at the restaurant was terrible for both our breakfast and dinner. The steak was soooo salty we couldn’t eat it. The waiter did not ask how the meal was.

Great location. Good games room.

Room kitchenette facilities were poor.
