"Lovely hotel in a very picturesque location"

8.0

I can’t believe some of the negative reviews went to the same hotel! There are a few issues, like any hotel, but nothing which out weighs the positives. The room we had was block 3, lovely big room with lots of space. Yes the balconies are a little small but nice enough to sit on. The hotel cleanliness is excellent! They power wash the entire pool and bar areas every night. The buffet restaurant is fab! Yes, there is always pizza, pasta and chips (great for kids) but always different meat dishes and rice. And a different meat and fish option on the griddle every night cooked fresh. Very friendly staff too! The all inclusive drinks are much better than I have had at some hotels. Lovely rose wine! It’s in a great location and the Mountain View’s are fab with a lovely beach and we did the speedboat pulled tube ride for 40 euros and loved it. Yes, sun loungers being reserved is annoying but we went down at 8am and managed to grab a couple. We had a fab 10 nights here and it’s a great place to explore Montenegro.

"Very Poor from Iberostar"

4.0

Having previously stayed at other Iberostar hotels I had high expectations and that's where I went wrong We stayed in block 3, 2 adults and 2 children. Our room was dated and the very small balcony and inadequate furniture on it was pointless and uncomfortable Several times we had to request towels as fresh one's hadn't been left and the shampoo and conditioner not re-filled. Upon asking they weren't quick and we waited over an hour I notice the manager states the food variation is in a rota, not at this hotel, every afternoon and evening, pasta, pizza and chips were the main available food item. There was the daily change in the evening was a change in the meat selection Salads were awful, there was nothing to put with it of an afternoon, usually in other hotels tuna, salmon, ham and cheese selection to accompany the salad Breakfast time, the young man making the eggs, bacon on the griddle was rude and miserable, even his colleague who was making pancakes, and always smiling, could see how rude he was to us. Despite going every morning for 10 mornings and ordering the same food he was rude to her The pools are a joke and getting up at 6 to get a lounger by the pool is unbelievable, but having to be up by 7 just to get a lounger is not a holiday. It's sold that it has a private beach, yes it does but 15 euros each for a lounger is not a beach that's part of the hotel The lifeguards are there for show and tick a safety box, but meanwhile they're chatting amongst themselves, on their phone or looking at female guests The pools are scruffy with tiles missing, the water is refreshingly cold The entertainment left a lot to be desired, with one of them trying to get my adult daughter to meet him on the beach when he finished work The staff at the bar were rude and didn't appear happy, clearly talking about us and laughing. I actually observed a person working on reception pulling tongues at a guest when her back was turned, not professional The hotel wine on tap is undrinkable There is a lot of work to be done to bring this hotel up to Iberostar standard Good points, grounds are immaculate, pool area and loungers regularly cleaned, gym area good

"Stunning backdrop for this well run hotel"

10.0

Travelled to this hotel with Jet2, family of 4 on all inclusive in the school holidays. The hotel was much bigger than expected and although busy had a really chill vibe about it which we loved. Rooms - we were block 3 and the room was spotless with daily housekeeping (thank you!), it is however dated and in need of a refurb. The beds themselves were not comfortable at all and even the linen struggled to fit. It was spacious and quite though and fine for us Food - we found the all inclusive fresh and delicious. The restaurant staff were so quick at clearing and restocking and the views from the terrace restaurant were beautiful. It isn’t a huge range and of course AI gets repetitive at this price point but we were more than happy and all of us ate well at every single meal. Crepes and ice cream at the snack bar were also well received Pools - were clean and the grounds throughout were immaculate, nice vibe and the kids made friends. Plenty of people playing ball or with inflatables which was nice. Looked like most of the hotel had alarms set for bed but we don’t do that on holiday, every single day as a family we still got beds regardless of time of days, some by the pool others on the grassy areas. Lifeguards were happy for you to move them around and looked like they got more out when needed Drinks - my goodness the staff work hard! Free flowing drinks including some cocktails and spritzes. Again a good standard for this price point and never much of a queue Entertainment - not too much through the day but if you look for activity you will find it. Evenings we found the area way too busy so sat away at the pool bar or snack bar and still had lovely evenings Beach - you are right on the beach and the far end of a very busy one. We went most days and found spots to put towels down BUT I didn’t love it. The stones stuck and the sea was surprisingly chilly but the kids had fun and husband snorkelled and swam out. Go left for boat trips and really reasonably priced beach bars Location - transfer time was a factor for us and was advertised as 45 mins but reality was 2+ hours each way from Tivat airport - not the hotel fault at all but something to be aware of and I think Jet2 could have handled this aspect better. On paper this is a perfect spot, on the beach, a walk into Budva and accessible to Tivat and Kotor. In reality the infrastructure is not there and we felt a bit trapped at the end of the beach. Reception were helpful with taxis but once out and heading back you are at the mercy of the drivers who happily charge 3x as much to get back! For this reason we didn’t do all we wanted to and wouldn’t return until the transport links and infrastructure improves, such a shame for a lovely hotel and beautiful country but no one likes to feel ripped off whilst also sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on holiday. (What we did see we absolutely loved and once you’ve paid the hiked fare everyone is lovely and helpful). Overall we had a brilliant holiday, the scenery is stunning, the hotel well maintained and is run with absolute military precision - this hotel is so well run and everyone clearly works very hard and wants you to have a fantastic time - thank you!

"A relaxing yet active week in beautiful surroundings"

10.0

We (family of 5, with "kids" aged 17-22) have just returned from a fantastic week at the Iberostar Waves Bellevue and highly recommend it. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately well maintained, facilities were great, food was good and staff were lovely. There is a lot on offer here - we did pilates, cross-fit, yoga and aqua Zumba, as well as using the tennis courts, gym, basketball court and table tennis but there was a lot more that we didn't get around to doing. Although we didn't have any need for the various kids' clubs, it looked as though they were well run, with plenty of varied activities. On our third day there was a slight issue when housekeeping noticed a leak in the ceiling in the children's bathroom, and we were told they would need to move to a different room so that it could be investigated. We were really disappointed, as the two garden rooms we had next to each other were beautiful, but we were offered a variety of options, all of which were an upgrade on the rooms we had. The manager was fantastic and spent a lot of time with us making sure we were happy with the new rooms (which were great). These things happen - what matters is how they are dealt with, and I cannot speak highly enough of the manager and the steps she took. Towards the end of the week, as a family we had a chat about whether we could think of any negative things that I should include in a review. We really struggled but managed to scrape the barrel and come up with: - The 20 Euro cash deposit for each pool/beach towel is a bit of a nuisance - in our case it meant we were handed 100 Euros when we returned the towels, as we were leaving and with no need for cash. - My daughter would have liked one of the pools to have a proper deep end. This is a big hotel, so it is busy - not the hotel for you if you like somewhere quiet, with not too many people. Having said that, there were plenty of loungers, we never had a problem getting five together. We chose to sit in a quieter area, between the pool and the beach but there always looked to be enough loungers around the pool had we wanted to sit there instead. We were also always able to get a table for breakfast/lunch/dinner when we wanted, in the area we preferred. All in all, a great week that exceeded our expectations - thanks to all at the Iberostar Waves for looking after us so well.

"I Will be back!"

10.0

I would give this hotel a 10/10 but I just had a couple of niggles. When we arrived I wasn't impressed until we were told we were in the other building which was the Terrasse building. Absolutely a different vibe. Our room had a balcony teeming with beautiful pink flowers which attracted birds. It was so beautiful. Pool and sea view. I was so impressed. There was enough free amenities there for me to be satisfied and classed the All Inclusive as top tier. The food options were delightful, the literally catered to most tastes and I was very happy with the choices. I find the hotel very clean and most of the staff were friendly but some made it seem like you were a nuisance which was off putting. I'd like to highlight one staff member, she worked in the reception in the Terrasse building. Her name was Marija. She was pleasant, helpful, friendly and just such a beautiful personality. If I was ever to return it would be because of her. She is really an asset to that hotel. Nothing was too big or too small. She's absolutely amazing. Now for my niggles. We were told if we needed ironing done that we should complete the form and place items into the bag and the housekeeper would collect. That never happened. I was quite miffed that All Inclusive glasses weren't fancy because we were All Inclusive and was paying for our drinks as the rude staff from the pool bar informed me. I hope you guys are aware that All Imclusive fares are more expensive than if I was to self cater. So I would love not to be treated as if I was cheap. Other than these things my stay was well spent.

"Very relaxed on hralth and safety"

6.0

Ok. I will start with the positves of this hotel. It's in a beautiful location, surrounded by mountains and greenery. A lovely beach, with clear, calm water. In the evening, the bars and resturants along the beach all have a relaxing feel, some have singers and it offers a welcome change of scenary from the hotel. The staff are very polite and friendly. Our room cleaner was lovely. There was also another lovely lady who kept the snack bar area spotless who was also kind and chatty. The gardeners work so hard, even in 40 degree heat. The reception team gave good advice when we asked about taxis to Kotor. I think their staff's friendly approach to their guests is probabably the hotel's main strength. The salads, pancakes and pasta are good and fresh. The room was bigger than we anticipated. The negatives... Our first night was not great. After a long day of travelling and being up since 2am, we were all ready for bed. The room appeared clean, the beds with fresh sheets. I got into bed and could smell a funny odour. My husband got into bed and noticed that the sheets felt cold and wet. Upon further inspection, the sheets were soaked and the mattress was saturated with someone else's urine. Yes, thats right. Someone else's urine. Just think about that for a moment... We were absolutley disgusted and called reception who called house keeping to our room. The lady had very limited english, so the language barrier was apparent. She started replacing the sheets with clean ones, on top of the already soiled mattress. No, no, no, we said. We need a new mattress. She said that she couldn't get a new mattress until the morning and then turned the mattress over and put the clean sheets on top, gesturing to us to sleep on that. Absolutley not. This was their solution for us. No empathy of how disgusted we were and how we were feeling. No appology. No bending over backwards to make this right. The housekeeping lady made us feel like it was our fault and we were an inconvienience! The audacity! We were absolutley shocked and disgusted. Spoke to reception again and it was clear I was being dismissed. Four of us slept in 3 beds that night. We just wanted to go home and we've only just arrived... We had a new mattress in the morning and our cleaner was the only one who was very appologectic. After this, we noticed a lot of health hazards in this hotel. Food contamination. Chefs using the same gloved hands to pick up tuna and then tomatoes, no correct labels. Eg, a label stating a vegetarian dish but had seafood in it, salads with no serving spoons so a lot of contamination there too, as people were just using the same tongs. The serving spoons and plates were also sooo hot! One evening, a waiter dropped a glass. Obviously an accident. But the shards landed in another guests foot, who was sat near by. Blood everywhere. Staff were slow to react. No first aid kit was offered, only the cloth napkins that guests use at dinner were. The blood was cleaned a good while later, using the same mop they use for the general cleaning of the floor.... One waiter also carries a row of glasses all along both arms, perhaps more than 15 on each arm! It's almost like a party trick. Honestly, after witnessing the accident at dinner, I worry that if he drops these glasses, it would cause a serious injury to someone. What if it's a child or a baby in a high chair? Our youngest was sick during our stay. This happens we thought. It's one of those things. But, because of our experiences, we do wonder if they were sick due to the lack of health and saftey they have at this hotel? The drink dispensers at the pool bar are riddled with wasps.. they're actually in the spout! The pool life gurad does nothing to guard life. He sits meters away from the pool in the shade chatting. The cocktails come out of a machine. They're not great. We stuck to the beer, aperol and malibu, which is proper malibu and aperol. The soft drinks are non branded. The salt shakers are all empty. You will hunt the tables to find a full one. The tables are half set up. When you do finally have cutlery, it will be missing spoons and napkins. Montenegro is a beautiful country. The people are friendly and welcoming to tourists. I really want this hotel to do well as it has a lot of potential. But, the lack of health and saftey it has to it's guests is very concerning. I really do hope the hotel takes my concerns seriously and looks into improving these issues and puts their guests well being a priority. Would I reconmmend this hotel? Sadly, no. And I'm actually very sorry about that.

"Not iberostar standard"

6.0

We are just back from 10 days staying at the Bellevue as a family of four, with two children. We chose the hotel as we had previously stayed at other iberostar hotels and had enjoyed the experience, however this is definitely not iberostar standard! Although not related to the hotel, its worth pointing out that the road conditions in Montenegro are horrendous, the airport is less than 30km but took over an hour and 45mins each time and a trip to the kotor kable kar took similar. This meant we felt trapped at the hotel, which isn't something we particularly look for in a holiday. I believe the hotel is a merge of 3 different hotels as the lay out seems very strange and disjointed. There's a lot of empty space with paid bars that I never saw anyone at, yet the restaurants are overcrowded and chaotic! We were in block 3, and the room was very dated but functional. However, we couldn't use the balcony at any point as it had two small balconies, with broken furniture, leaving us with a lone chair for the four of us! The entertainment area is right next to this block and would have been unbearable had our room overlooked this, with loud music till 11pm at night. The maids would be outside hoovering at 7am, which isn't great, but often wouldn't come to our room until 3 or 4pm. We also had 3 fire alarms during the 10 nights we stayed there, 2 at 3am in the morning. The hotel has 2 main restaurants, one in block 3 and one with a nice view over the resort, in another block. However the food is exactly the same in each restaurant and pretty much the same each and every night of the holiday! I appreciate there's always some repetition at an AI hotel, but we've always had themed nights at other iberostars, but no such luck here. There were a few times where we saw the head chef shouting at his chefs infront of the guests which is just awkward! A particular low point was seeing the previous nights chicken burgers chopped up as a salad topping, saturated in grease! The pools were fine, but manned by a completely pointless lifeguard who one morning decided to tell everyone they couldn't jump in the pool. This was then given up with as soon as it had been announced! We refused to partake in the 5am sunbed wars that seemed to be going on, but by 7:30am pretty much every sun lounger would be taken up. I think the hotel could do something to manage this, as often people wouldn't even return to their sunbeds until mid afternoon. There were a few instances where people would return to find their stuff removed by other guests, but again the hotel wouldn't do anything about this. The sunbeds at the beach are 15 euros, but I didn't realise that the beach is so completely covered in sunbeds that its impossible to access the beach without one, as there's simply no space. This meant we didn't really use the beach at all. Often we would see members of staff walking around on their phones, texting away, and found them pretty much unhelpful and like they didn't want to be there. At dinner times it was near on impossible to get a knife and fork as they seem to set up the tables for 2 people despite the majority of people being there as larger families. Overall it was a very disappointing experience, the hotel is definitely not an iberostar standard. I can't recommend it and wouldn't come back. I've read glowing reviews of the hotel on Google and can only assume those people have never stayed at a hotel before to leave such positive feedback!

"Needs improvements"

6.0

Travelled her with my 12 year old son for 3 nights. We wanted to visit Montenegro and he wanted an all inclusive. We were in block 2 - yes dated, bathroom minute, no privacy on the balcony, but it was fine. Nice and clean and views of the lush gardens. The food and drink were lovely - plenty of choice and never a queue. We enjoyed sitting in the terrace looking out to sea. The gym was pretty good but need to open much earlier. 9am is halfway through the morning for me and by that time it’s like a greenhouse! The big let down is the pool area and sun bed wars. I was out at 6.30 each morning for a run and every bed was reserved with not a sole in sight. God knows what time these silly people were stapling their towels down but it should not be allowed to happen. Having to hunt around to find empty beds and then carry them to an unused patch of grass with no shade is not conducive to a relaxing holiday. For me this drags the holiday standard down as you do not get this in resorts of a high standard. We had a lovely 3 days but that was enough and I wouldn’t come back to this hotel or recommend it - however the changes needed to improve are pretty straight forward and can easily be achieved. Be mindful of the airport transfer. We allowed 3 hours and arrived by the skin of our teeth after a frantic drive through the back roads. Also it’s perhaps the worst airport weve ever been to!

"Beautiful Montenegro"

8.0

Came home yesterday after a good week at this hotel. Family with 2 kids age 22 and 15. Be prepared for a 2 hour transfer currently due to the road works and the airport is definitely ‘no frills’ but efficient and you can take large bottles of water through security for your return. We pre booked meals on jet 2 for the return flight which I’d recommend as nothing much to get at the airport. We stayed in block 3 with 2 interconnecting rooms overlooking the road and mountains. Rooms were basic but clean and adequate. Plenty of space with 2 in each room. This side of the hotel is really quiet and we all slept really well-beds very comfortable. Good maid service with clean towels everyday. Fridge, water on arrival and a safe. Pool areas and gardens are lovely. Sun-beds do get reserved early. It’s busy currently with summer holidays and they could probably put a few extra beds in the garden areas to help meet the demand. Bars and food we enjoyed. All inclusive beer and wine very drinkable and a few decent cocktails. I certainly enjoyed the Aperol spritz! Plenty of choice at all meals- something for everyone. Usual all inclusive choices. Ice creams were really nice flavours. We ate in both restaurants and never had a problem getting a table. The staff all friendly and work very hard clearing plates etc. the terrace in block 1 restaurant has a stunning view. The beach is beautiful and water crystal clear You pay for sun beds here- but we tended just to pop down for a swim when we fancied it and then returned to the pool areas. The entertainment team work hard and we found the standard of entertainment similar to that in other Iberostar hotels we have been to in Spain previously. Montenegro is a beautiful country with mountains everywhere you look. So happy we decided to visit. We loved the trip to lake Skadar and Budva old town is so pretty. There’s plenty more we’d like to see and so hope to visit again at some time in the future. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for giving us a lovely holiday.
