The Conigre

Second time staying (visiting family) just as good as before. Staff very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault breakfast.

Location was perfect , the room was very clean and comfortable, had everything that was need to make our stay excellent . The bottle of wine for Christmas was a special touch , thank you .

Very well located, a short stroll into town. An easy drive to places such as Bath and Longleat. Very clean and cosy. Very generous welcome back.

Pros- Very clean Comfy bed Lovely bedding Fridge Plenty of tea, coffee, UHT milk and lovely biscuits Great TV's Lots of complementary toiletries Information leaflets Cons- Website looked great but room not in the main building but off the carpark We were in Pip and Estelle room which was below my Great Expectations Arrived to a cold damp room Noisy as next to the road In need of a refurb Mirrors foxed Bathroom tiles looked old with nasty grouting Brown toilet roll 🤢 Waldrobe a narrow single and chest of drawers missing a handle making it look like bad bed sit furniture so lived out of our suitcase Only one bedside light Would have liked a breakfast even if a choice of cereal and toast you made yourself as took time out of our day finding somewhere to get breakfast Would not return or recommend but think a small investment in changing the problems I have highlighted would make a huge difference as it is clear the owners want their guests feel at home.

The host was amazing, he couldn’t do enough to accommodate and make us feel welcome. Even made us some sausage and bacon ‘sangers’ to go, on the morning we checked out. As we had to be away early. The property itself was very charming, with a wonderful deep bath in our room.

I can’t say that there was anything I didn’t like to be honest, I was very happy that I booked the Conigre.

The location was ideal and the room quiet and clean. I appreciated the desk as I had to work. Parking off road. Garage nearby to buy a nespaper.

Breakfast poor. White toast brought without asking before I had started. No Earl Grey tea. No plain dairy yogurt. Fried egg was hard. Sauce on the table, ugh. Cost more than the Tollgate Inn where I had stayed the 2 previous nights for a very superior breakfast. Bed a bit narrow had trouble keeping the duvet on.
