I had read some negative reviews (along with positive ones) so I was a little worried about what I would find here. My Best Western experience along the I-90 corridor from MT thru Mn hasn’t been good. All the front desk personnel were friendly and professional. Our double queen room was clean and nicely decorated and quiet. We were on the second floor and there was a chlorine smell from the pool but it wasn’t overwhelming. The rooms were pricey compared to other Best Westerns but were definitely worth the price. There was a convention there so the prices were probably higher than normal but still good. There is an elevator and room entrances are inside. Some people complained about the lack of free breakfast but most free ones aren’t that great and you can buy breakfast at the restaurant that is attached to the BW.

Our TV didn't work and they replaced it with a new one right away. Staff was friendly and accomodating upon checking in and out. We were in town for a hockey tournament and they let us rent out a conference room to play floor hockey!

We had pool view which was great as son’s family had poolside. Poolside was not available to me when I booked in November. My son got poolside reservation a few days before our stay and for $21 per night less than I paid. Feeling ripped off…see my next comment

The property is in need of repair. Ceiling tiles in pool area are falling apart and ceiling vent has black stuff around it. Our Bathroom sink bowl had cracked porcelain and our toilet flushed slow with rising bowl water before going down…it was a hold your breath moment… For Fairmont the property was overpriced and next year we may go to Mankato or better yet-st cloud holiday inn. Then we can get what we pay for. It was only the location as Fairmont is my home town and family here. There is another pool option for my grandkids but area is small and not conducive to our Christmas celebration.
