Sunset Resort - Adults Only

We really enjoyed our 2br apartment at Sunset. It was clean and well presented. The pools and gardens are really well kept. But we spent most of our time on the beach, snorkelling in the lagoon and watching the whales go by, amazing! Staff were also very helpful in booking activities and transfers.

Well appointed spacious 1 bedroom unit poolside with cooktop, cooking utensils etc. 2 aircon units with insect mesh on windows. Comfortable bed and housekeeping to a high standard as were the gardens and beachfront. Lovely friendly staff in both the Anchorage restaurant and Birdcage bar. Happy hours each afternoon for sundowners at the Birdcage was a real winner. $14 Pina Colada’s, $6 beers and daily cocktails of the day. Welcome to take with you to the Anchorage or beachfront. A small bakery across the road and takeaway further along towards the Brewery, all walkable. $8 fish or bbq chicken burgers. All takeaways very generous sized portions.

We have absolutely loved our stay at the Sunset Resort. The staff are wonderful: friendly and helpful, always smiling. The room was spotless, the food in the restaurant was top quality, the setting by the lagoon was beautiful, peaceful and gave a great view of the whales passing on migration. We will definitely be back!

We loved the peaceful beautiful gardens, pools and beach. The BBQ buffet night was not worth $50 each. Main menu a la carte was much better. Great cocktails at the pool bar.

Property was clean and well maintained. Staff very friendly and professional. On site options somewhat limited. Perfect for a quiet vacation on the beach

Our 3rd time to Rarotonga, our first on this coast and this resort. Where to start? Beautifully set out in immaculate gardens. All staff from reception to housekeeping to ground staff to bar and restaurant staff all very friendly and attentive. Beach is lovely with good snorkeling with amazing hammocks to rest after. Breakfast was well stocked with breads for toast with lots of jams, marmalade marmite etc and yoghurt and local fruits. Good selection of restaurants close by. Wouldn't hesitate to come back. Only one main complaint...time goes by very quickly there. Good cocktails at happy hour (3-7 !) by the birdcage bar. Shout out to Bai and Junior in the main restaurant and Hailey for her amazing efficiency at cocktail happy hour time. Apologies to all the others whose names we can't remember who ALL do an incredible job to make your holiday special.

We loved our stay and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They took us to the hospital and picked us up when we needed antibiotics. A bottle of bubbles for my birthday and birthday wishes. The only reason not a 5 is our room was tucked away and always dark and next to the laundry. It was a nice tidy room. It was just the location. Other than that can not fault the place. The cocktails, the friends made, the snorkeling is amazing, and watching the sunset, magical. Watch out for the BCB cocktails they knock ya socks off. 😁
