Castello Village Resort

I booked 3 Double Sea View rooms at this hotel & its the strangest place I've ever stayed. Hardly any of the rooms are the same size/ shape / layout, despite the hotel saying that all the 'Double' category rooms have the same square footage. They obviously must include the balcony in this, as when we checked in, our 1st room was half the size of the other 2. The balcony was massive, but open & shared by 2 other random rooms. Another of our rooms had a view of the table-tennis table, right outside their balcony. Although these were all supposed to be the same 'sea view' rooms, only 1 room was a decent size with a good size balcony & proper sea view. All rooms were in different locations, but the same block. Two of us requested to be moved & the following day were given 2 different rooms - not togethet & decent size but the smallest balcony I've ever seen. Being in the corner, our 'sea view' was the side of a building, the pool bar, pool & and partial view of the sea. To say this differed from the images on the website, is an understatement. We had no blackout curtains, only old metal shutter doors that couldn't be closed, because the patio furniture was in the way & there was no space to move it! There were several other issues, but the worst was the chaos at breakfast. Despite the efforts of the very hard- working staff, every day they regularly ran out of clean cups, plates, bread for toast, butter, milk in both coffee machines......The conversation between the hotel & Tui had no relation to the truth, in particular where the manager told them they had offered us another room change, which was a complete lie. This was so very frustrating for us & Tui didn't provide much help. The last thing I wanted on my holiday was to be texting their 'Support' & constantly be answered by a different person each time. No idea why this has been rated 3*plus? No pool towels, no courtesy room, the main pool & bar is shut early (approx 4.30pm) & for a minimum of 2 hours when they have their 'event nights' a few times each week. No warning is given - we came back from a walk to find the pool shut & our belongings in a pile at the side. If you value your privacy, this is not for you. Being a 'Village', many of the balconies are on public walkways. The images on the Tui website do not reflect most of the actual rooms or indeed the pool area. Very disappointing, as the resort of Sissi itself is gorgeous, with great bars & restaurants. Would we go back? Yes to the resort, but definitely no to this hotel.

Castello resort is a great resort complex. Although we arrived late night due to flight delay, there was a meal waiting for us in our room. Reception staff very kind and helpful trying their best to make us feel welcomed. We would like to thank all staff for their friendly approach and kindness. Special thanks to the team in the dining area, Ervi and Stefi, to Andrea, Beatrice and Cornelia (pool aqua exercises), to Mrs Maria for her effort to make sure that our room was spotless, to Chary and Elefhteria for the "bouzouki night". Buffet meals with Greek/Cretan cuisine, all sorts of desserts and local fruits, various types of wines. Sissi is a lovely little village ideal for peaceful walks for everyone,fantastic sunsets and very friendly local people.

Never visited Crete before so came here blind. Arrived late so it was in darkness but reception was open and got booked in easily and taken to our ground floor beach view apartment. Popped qcross road to the handy supermarket and got a few drinks and water and milk and called it a night. Come morning the view was excellent...literally 20 yards from the rocky beach with waves crashing and the beautiful blue ocean. Went for breakfast and it was excellent...loads of choice... unbelievably the rice pudding was a hit! Little complaint was that the hot food options were literally luke warm and needed a couple of minutes in a microwave to get them even acceptable...this was every morning. So....the room was small but adequate with air con, kettle etc, fridge, safe, wifi, great shower and bathroom.... adequate clothing rack and drawer space. A bit of a downer was our room literally opened onto a flagged or tiled footway that was badly cracked and some loose and dangerous tiles...sadly it went onto the grassy area prior to the beach where the sunbeds were situated. This grassed area desperately needed a trim or renovation and let the rest of the hotel down.. especially as the sister hotel literally next door had a fabulous frontage and looked immaculate. Anyway...the hotel was clean and staff were lovely and we would deffo return. Great location and views and if the food was hot and tidy the grass up it would have been perfect. Lots of friendly cats as well.... Love it to pieces.

Fantastic location in Sissi for our family holiday, we have had a great time. All of the staff from reception to housekeeping were friendly. Breakfast and evening meal offerings when we didn’t eat out were lovely. Big shout out to the Animation team for organising great evening entertainment, as well as making day time activities fun for all round the pool. Cornelia and Bia really made an effort to make everyone feel welcome and included.

Sissi is a lovely village, everything you need. Staff at the Castello village were amazing!! The entertainment crew were exceptional, very approachable, kind, friendly and fun!! The hotel could do with a little TLC but on the whole a nice place to stay.

Very good the hotel is excellent in terms of animators, awesome and energetic, especially Andreas food and service great

We were very satisfied with our holiday, the hotel offers both a quiet part with a sea view and a street with the hustle and bustle of the city. Everything went smoothly. Andreas took care of our entertainment perfectly. Many thanks ❤️

Lovely place. Loved sissy hotel is nice friendly beds just a little uncomfortable to be honest , if booking I again I would definitely get a sea view room

My husband and I really enjoyed this holiday here at castello resort. The whole resort was clean and tidy. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. One particular member of staff Sevi was amazing. She went above and beyond for my husband and I and made us feel like we were family. Sevi made the whole experience so wonderful, we will be back because of her Great place can't wait to come back
