Kalimera Kriti Hotel & Village Resort

Spent a week at the so -called 5* Kalimera Kriti at a cost of 3k. Had seafront bungalow which was 2* maybe 3* accommodation. Restaurant was a chaotic free for all and no way a 5* experience. Not safe or easy to walk to Sisi town. Hundreds of steps to get around the hotel and no lifts. Paid a lot of money for a week for a very unenjoyable time. Goodby TUI

Two parts in this review. Part one: standard room in the main building. Rooms like that shouldn't be offered in the 5 star hotel: old fashioned, little storage, noisy (we could hear toilet flushing in the next room), tired bathroom (not surprised then no bathroom photos are actually available on the hotel website). Some ants infestation (the room was on the ground floor). Having reported some issues with the room and the bathroom, we've been offered a refurbished room instead. Thank you :) Part two. That's more like it, 5 star. No issues with ants (although the room was still on the ground floor), hot water or noise (double glazed windows). If you are considering this hotel - choose refurbished rooms. Food is nice. Indeed, some problems with finding a table at dinner. The water you order come in plastic bottles. This is cheap. If hotel charges you for water, I'd expect glass bottles instead. In general, good holiday (especially after room swap), 2 nice beaches, large well maintained area.

We have just returned from 11 nights stay at the Kalimera Kriti and we would like to share the following feedback. We did have a good time but here is no way on earth that this hotel should be classified as a 5 star, we have stayed in much better 4-star hotels. The complex is huge, but the map provided on arrival was very difficult to read and next to useless when trying to work out where things were. This complex is arranged like a small village. There are so many buildings spread around the complex with zero signage, I was very disappointed to find the TV room showing football on my last day. There were also many buildings that were closed up and used for storage that could very easily be put to use to provide more entertainment and activities. The only entertainment of an evening were the shows by the main bar which was the only bar that we saw open of an evening. During our visit the a-la-carte restaurant was shut in the evenings so the only restaurant open was the main buffet restaurant. We found the food to be excellent but there were many issues with the restaurant. There was a significant lack of staff for a complex of this size and we struggled to get seated almost every evening. You are not shown to tables at this restaurant, you basically have to find a table to sit down. If you did not get to the restaurant in the first 30 mins of opening you had zero chance of finding a empty table made up with cutlery and the like. Most evenings we had to walk around and come back near the end of service or eat inside where there was only 1 person taking drink orders and clearing tables and dirty plates. We sat with dirty plates at our table most evenings with starter and main plates still on the table by the time we came back with our deserts. The restaurant staff were extremely hard working but there was simply not enough of them for a complex this large and it was obvious to see. On one occasion there were zero clean bowls or plates for breakfast, people including myself waited for almost 30 minutes unable to get a plate or bowl to get food, I ended up using my wife’s used breakfast bowl to get my cereal and people were still waiting for plates and bowls when I had finished. I ended up skipping my cooked breakfast and just taking food that I could carry in my hands back to my table. There was a power cut one morning and I thought that breakfast would be a disaster without power but I was surprised that breakfast was quite smooth on this day. We experienced a day where the water in our bathroom was cold. We advised reception and the issue was resolved within 1 day. The shower is just a mixer tap above the bath but it was fine for us. Our room was okay despite limited storage and power sockets, our room only had 2 sockets and they were not near the bed. There was only a single bed side cabinet too. The towels were changed every time we left them in the bath as advised and the bed was made every day but that was about all that we could see from a housekeeping perspective. We saw gardeners on a couple of occasions but never witnessed anyone sweeping or cleaning the communal outside areas. The entertainment team seemed to be very hard working and always asked if we wanted to take part in any activities but never pressured us if we said no. It is in a fabulous location right on the beach. We always managed to get a sunbed whatever time of day we came down. We did not see anyone reserving beds early as there were so many. Despite all the negatives we still had a good and relaxing time at this hotel but we will not return.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön, allerdings niemals fünf Sterne. Der Service funktioniert gar nicht, extrem unpersönlich und überteuert. Der Strand toll, nur wenn der Sturm vom Meer alles an Land bringt, wird der Strand nicht sauber gemacht und es beginnt mit der Zeit extrem zu riechen. Da es ein fünf Sterne Hotel ist, dürfen diese pro Nacht und Zimmer 10.- verlangen, als Abgaben

We went as a couple in September and it was absolutely perfect. The grounds are so spread out and are all so beautiful.The beaches are so clean and pretty. I really enjoyed walking and looking in all the rock pools. Absolutely no problem getting sunbeds round the pools. We were by the adult only pool every day and even though it was busy it was so quiet. We went full board and the food was varied every day. All the staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for you. We had a seafront bungalow which is definitely worth paying a bit more for, as you can sit on the patio and watch the sunset with a beer each night. They are basic but the beds were so comfy and were cleaned everyday.Such lovely nights sleep listening to the waves at night. Thanks to everyone for making it a lovely holiday.

Wieder ein sehr erholsamer Urlaub im Kalimera Kriti. Das Hotel ist toll gelegen, ruhig und mit sehr schönen Stränden. Trotzdem ist man zu Fuss schnell im Fischerdorf Sissi. Durch die sehr gepflegte Anlage mit tollen Pflanzen, fühlt man sich wie in einem großen Garten. Dieses Mal hatte ich eines der renovierten Luxury Zimmer zum Meer hin. Sehr komfortabel und geschmackvoll, richtig zum Wohlfühlen. Der Service war wie immer sehr aufmerksam, von der Unterstützung bei der Transferbuchung bis hin zu dem herzlichen Personal im Restaurant. Viele der Mitarbeiter sind schon seit Jahren im Hotel und kümmern sich engagiert um "Ihre Gäste". Dadurch wird es auch im großen Restaurant persönlich. Ich komme gerne wieder!

Everything about this hotel was incredible. So much space, so clean, stunning surroundings, wonderful pools and a perfect mix of 3 beaches (calm/shallow/quiet vs busier/lively but still calm vs deeper and waves). The buffet restaurant food for breakfast and dinner was probably the best we've ever had. Treatments at the spa were amazing. It was all family friendly, but with so much space it never felt overrun with children. We stayed with a 6 month old and were made to feel very welcome.

The only thing that would have been better is being able to stay longer!

Gesamtbewertung sehr gut. Anlage sehr sauber, das Wasser leider nicht an allen Tagen (es wird doch recht viel Plastikmüll angeschwemmt). Zimmer sauber. Personal an der Rezeption top! Serviceniveau im Restaurant bei den Servicekräften am Tisch geht leider stark auseinander. Entweder man wird auch bei dreimaligem Nachfragen nach einem sauberen /neu eingedeckten Tisch immer noch ignoriert oder man wird hotelkategoriengerecht hofiert, dazwischen gibt es nichts. Sehr schade! Hotelanlage sehr schön, in gutem gepflegten Zustand. Zimmer auch gut. Umgebung bei dieser Anlage eigentlich nicht so wichtig, je nachdem was für eine Art Urlaub man sich vorgestellt hat. Man muss die Unterkunft jedenfalls nicht verlassen, wenn man nicht mag oder es einfach zu heiß ist :) Ausflüge ansonsten nur per Mietwagen (der über die Rezeption buchbar ist). Speisenauswahl im Restaurant übrigens sehr abwechslungsreich und lecker, auf einem guten Niveau! Betten sogar auch sehr bequem - auch bei Rückenproblemen unproblematisch!
