Park Inn Sandton

Room: barn/manure smell would hit you in the face when opening the shower door. It would go away after a few minutes of running water. The sink would take several minutes to drain because of clogging. The air conditioner would not work but would make a lot of noise to the point where I would have to use ear plugs to sleep. A bug was in the room that I squashed with my shoe (half the size of a cockroach). The ironing board that I requested had the welding from the legs broken meaning it could not stay up. The iron would leak water as if a hole had been drilled in the bottom. The iron was stained black underneath and ended up staining my white dress shirt. After requesting an ironing board from the front desk, I had to call an hour later and housekeeping woman appeared to be watching a movie on her mobile phone while delivering the items to me which makes me wonder if that's why she didn't deliver it when the initial call was placed. The two technicians, Sam and Adolph, were very helpful and friendly in setting up the conference room. The lady who checked me in was also friendly and helpful. The same lady had to come over when I was trying to check out because the male employee didn't seem to know that he was working in a hotel and couldn't do the job. It took the waiter in the restaurant about 45 minutes to bring us our Bill's after asking 3 times and there were only a handful of people in the restaurant. The food was not good either.

Reserved a business room but discovered that they all face a very close office building and so have no view and little sunlight. The standard rooms are the same size as business but face the other way and so have a great view of Sandton City from the higher floors. However, floor seven has terrible wifi which disappears for long periods. A large Spar five minutes away for essential supplies.

Its was a good hotel.just that they are slow in response to request and they have no fridge

Some food was good but sausages had gone bad and undercooked They had canvas ridicoulous for a curtain no lace curtains for privacy Took 5 people to get requests or I needed a face towel which I believed to be standard Went to reception to ask they promised to get me one never happened Informed 4 house maids at different times they promised but again never brought Only when I phoned the manager did I get the towel Asked for and was promised a packed breakfast as I was leaving early Again I was promised but when I went to get at time promised I was informed the chef had not been in but anyone can make a sandwich No attempt was made to provide the minimum ie. a couple of slices of bread butter and marmalade from the kitchen Am sure chef does not work alone Managers were really helpful

Conveniently located - hourly shuttle available to a nearby mall. Easy to move around the area. Comfortable bed and clean rooms

Everything was perfect and environment was condusive

Stayed at this Hotel previous times and I was happy with it. Last time was a different experience: lifts were having difficulties to read the card, had to try two or three times. My roon conditions were not adquated, windows blinds were not working propely, found a cockrouch in the room, and cleaning staff did not leave shower gel on my second day o stay - likely I had my own...

Nice hotel, friendly staff and close to local amenities (Nelson Mandela square). Really enjoyed my short stay.

Good spread at breakfast but much of it was "hard" as if it had been out for a long time. I ate just after 08:00.

The water in the lavatory in room 653 doesn't drain properly, I think a plumber should do the proper maintenance.
