"A luxurious treat!"

The Grand Hotel is in an excellent location near the railway station, central to the heart of York. The entrance is most attractive and very welcoming. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Our room was large, beautifully furnished and very comfortable- First class breakfast in the morning too!

"Guest Experience"

Weekend at the Grand We stayed at The Grand last month for a small weekend celebration. The hotel was beautifully maintained and the staff were incredibly helpful. Matilda surprised us with a lovely handwritten card,such a thoughtful gesture. Dinner at The Rise was excellent, though breakfast was quite crowded and felt rushed. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely return with the whole family.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic stay at The Grand Hotel & Spa. From the moment i arrived, the service was warm, professional, and welcoming. The hotel itself is beautiful, with luxurious rooms, excellent facilities, and a relaxing spa that made our stay feel truly special. The highlight for us was the food. Every meal was outstanding, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail from the chefs was clear throughout our stay. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, making us feel valued and well looked after. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and already looking forward to returning. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxury getaway with exceptional food and service.

"A luxurious treat in the city of York"

It is a beautiful building and the last word in comfort. The bedroom was wonderful and the staff were so attentive, friendly and professional: front of house staff, doormen, waiters- all absolutely first class.

"Beautiful Hotel in the heart of York"

An absolutely beautiful hotel. We stayed in the "newer building" and the room was beautiful, well appointed and had all the comforts of a hotel of this calibre. Lounge and live music was also top notch.

Inability to control the temperature in our room. Could not get the room cooler to the degree that we like and the staff was unable to resolve the request. This should not be a challenge in a newer hotel wing in our opinion. Otherwise this hotel is a 10.

"Great stay for break with friends"

Location and rooms were huge and very comfortable!

Breakfast service a bit chaotic whilst food offering good service was erratic with tables left uncleared at times!

"Fantastic service, Legacy delicious"

Excellent location. Quiet. Big rooms and good beds - slept well. The bathroom had a separate shower as well as a bath. The service was outstanding. Genuinely made you feel welcome. The Legacy restaurant was amazing. We went for the steel menu with the matching wine - could not fault it. Value for quality. Excellent friendly service. It should have a Michellin star. We have not tried the Cookery school, but we will be back.
