"The best kept secret"

It’s the best for service and the unrivalled hospitality of the staff. There are improvements to be made to the building which is a bit dated however

"Old, lifeless needs serious renovation."

This hotel seriously needs millios spent on it, its shabby & lifeless. The pool areas are basic with rusty sunbeds & cushions torn & split! We had a club villa which could have been lovely . They are small, very very dated, smelt like toilet, the mirror in bathroom had a giant crack in it & the shower old fashioned & dribbled out. We were staying at another hotel & i booked this for one night for our anniversary as we had debated staying at this hotel before booking. (Thank goodness we never booked this for our entire trip) We ended up leaving after 2 hours & i lost any money paid but there was just no way we could stay there. The management were disinterested in what i had to say, the only helpful person was a lady at guest relations but management offered no apology, no room change or refund. To be honest even with a room change we wouldnt of stayed. This is barely a 2 star its just horrible weve been to the gambia a few times so don’t expect high end luxury but this was beyond terrible. Cant comment on food & drinks as didnt try any. Also outside hotel literally right at the front they are building a new road so wuite major wrk & to the left is a big crane & a part completed tower block.

"Fab stay"

I really enjoyed my stay at Coco - I have just got home . The staff are amazing - they are the highlight . They can’t do enough for you - and that is right across every department from food, reception, pool, beach, housekeeping, bar . They are all superb and service every day is with a smile. The food was really good in each restaurant. The hotel feels a little “tired” and clearly needs some investment but it is very clean, the weather is perfect and the facilities /location are wonderful . I will be definitely returning .

"Our first visit to the Gambia"

This hotel has a five star rating which needs to be taken in the context of being in West Africa. Our accommodation was spacious and in an amazing location. The service in this hotel would be six star in any country. The food prices were very reasonable and the food was a very good quality. This was our first visit to the Gambia. It will not be our last.

"Un établissement au potentiel immense porté par une équipe d'une résilience exemplaire"

Le Coco Ocean Resort possède un charme indéniable. C’est un cadre verdoyant, apaisant, bordé par une plage magnifique. Bien que l’hôtel soit un "gros porteur" accueillant régulièrement des séminaires, cela n’entache en rien la sérénité du lieu pour les vacanciers. ​Le véritable atout de cet établissement est son capital humain. Ayant moi-même été Directrice Générale d’hôtels de luxe, je suis particulièrement sensible à la qualité du service. Le dévouement, la réactivité et l’écoute de la Direction et du personnel sont tout simplement incroyables. Une mention toute particulière à la réception, au housekeeping et aux bagagistes qui font preuve d'un professionnalisme et d'une gentillesse remarquables.

Malgré quelques désagréments techniques, la Direction a tout mis en œuvre pour nous satisfaire avec une réactivité exemplaire. C’est un hôtel qui a une âme. Si les investissements suivent, cet endroit deviendra une référence incontournable. Il est important de préciser pour les voyageurs européens que les 5 étoiles locales ne correspondent pas encore aux standards 5 étoiles européens. Des rénovations sont en cours et doivent impérativement être menées à leur terme pour que l'infrastructure soit à la hauteur du site. ​En tant que professionnelle du secteur, je sais que la Direction est tributaire des décisions des propriétaires. Il est regrettable que certains propriétaires ne donnent pas toujours les moyens nécessaires à leurs équipes pour remettre l'outil de travail au goût du jour. Ce sont malheureusement les équipes sur place qui reçoivent les critiques, alors que la responsabilité du manque d'investissement incombe souvent à l'étage supérieur.
