The Russelior Hotel & Spa

The hotel has many positive points: most of the staff were wonderful, kind and always willing to help. The buffet offered a wide variety of tasty food, the hotel was spotless, the atmosphere with background music was perfect, the landscaping well maintained, and the location close to the beach was excellent. There are, however, a few small but important areas for improvement. At the buffet, serving spoons were often missing, so the same spoon had to be used for several dishes, and food labels were frequently absent. Salt and pepper also had to be requested or taken from other tables almost every meal. In the room, towels were sometimes removed even when not left on the floor, and not replaced immediately, meaning we returned from the pool with no towels available. Although reception always sent them afterwards, it happened more than once. On one occasion, a manager spoke to me rather arrogantly about carrying a bottle of water into the restaurant, which felt unnecessary. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and really appreciated the kindness of the staff and the hotel’s atmosphere, but with a few simple improvements the experience could be even better.

When I booked the hotel, it had great reviews and I was happy with it. As it got nearer to my holiday the reviews changed drastically, from good to bad to worse and even worse. Anyway, there was nothing I could do now so just went with it. Upon arrival, first impressions the hotel looks amazing…defo 5*. The reception was a bit slow and it took them time to acknowledge us but they did and said room wasn’t available until 2pm. We had a look around the hotel grounds. The pool areas were absolutely amazing. The pool itself was very clean and it was so nice and relaxing. Unfortunately, the beds with the mattresses were not so great as the mattresses were very dirty. They had stains on them and horrible marks. The loungers were clean and were in good condition. The towels were ok too. The hotel rooms were comfortable however, the curtains were falling down, the bed runner had stains on it, the linen basket was broken. I had to look past this and just enjoy my holiday. We didn’t spend much time in our hotel room, we were either out or in the pool. The restaurant at breakfast was a nightmare as items such as bread, juice and butter were not being replenished and you had to wait around for it. We had to ask the hotel staff in the restaurant, please can we have more bread, or the juice has finished or can the tables have clean tablecloths. These are the things that can easily be changed and bring the hotel back to being a 5*. Maintenance needs to go up and also some staff need to change their attitudes. Although, we didn’t have a run in with staff. Yousaf and baha were helpful.

Very bad customer service badly trained and understaffed, I complained about a serious issue with a loot metal on the sunshade and was not taken seriously even after I was hit in the head, the customer service at the reception Rania was rude and ill mannered and did not even note the complaint down.

This is certainly not a 5 star hotel. They lack basic facilities, hygiene, luxury and etiquette. You’re not allowed food or drink from outside but they don’t provide free water to guests. Forced to buy at bar at a premium price. English is not universal and staff struggle to understand you. Rooms are very, very dated and not maintained. Food is awful so we had to change board basis basis to just bed and breakfast. At breakfast the food was not replenished quick enough so a lot of hanging around. Queues were too long for egg and pancake station (the only fresh cooked station). Pool staff were scarce and slow. Minibar fridge in the room is empty and hot. Indoor bar allows smoking Bedding blood stained and dirty, mattress dirty and sweat/ urine stained. Dusty, mouldy and dirty upholstery in bedrooms and dining chairs. Room toiletries were not replenished and toilet rolls were rationed at best. The male staff harass female guests and would not accept no for answer. The spa pool was being renovated but was not advertised to guests and I had to walk out of massage as masseuse was not professional. I’m from UK and the standard was like a 2-3 star hotel. It should not be advertised as 5 star and it’s very misleading. Honestly, don’t waste your hard earned money here. Management - please don’t bother responding as nothing you say can be of help or use. You will be hearing from my tour agent.

Very improfessional staff on reception, it was our wedding anniversary no effort at all, price 200 euro by night with breakfast with the quality of room of beach of food not accurate at all very very dissiponted

had a great stay at The Russelior. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the restaurant service was excellent everything was quickly refilled and there was always a good variety, especially seafood. The reception staff were always smiling, helpful, and professional. On checkout I had a flat tire, and one of the staff kindly helped me change it, which I really appreciated. The VIP Mercedes van to the beach was also a nice touch. Overall, a very pleasant stay with amazing staff and service.

Je n’ai pas eu un cap de bain ni des claquettes Le restaurant pour le petit déjeuner j’étais très déçu peu de choix la viennoiserie était pas bonne très sec… La plage était loin, il fallait prendre une navette le truc que je n’ai pas aimé car j’attendais trop longtemps la navette La piscine était pas grande, c’était Petit pas assez transat car l’hôtel était rempli Pas d’ambiance dans l’hôtel, c’était vraiment naze, je n’ai pas aimé du tout En plus j’ai payé cher, pour que au final je passe quatre jours horrible…

Just returned from a great holiday. First time in Tunisia and enjoyed the location, the vibe and the people were very nice. I was however very disappointed with the hotel. It is definitely not 5 stars. The hotel is described as having a spa however the spa pool was closed, the steam room smelt of mould. The facilities state that bottled water would be provided as was the iron. However on requesting an iron we we told that this was chargeable as was bottled water. The toiletries were not replenished unless asked. The cutlery was not laid out. Any spare serviettes were quickly whipped from under our noses. Plates were removed whilst we were still eating. On one occasion the bread was mouldy 😳. I felt the hotel was misold.

My sisters and I went for my 50th birthday and I was a little apprehensive not having been to Tunisia before. I have fallen in love with the beautiful country. The hotel staff were really friendly especially Baha, who made the visit so memorable. He took care of every small detail. With helping us with lost baggage, to booking excursions and recommending a fabulous restaurant for my birthday dinner. It is Baha that has made this holiday so special. He really deserves a mention for going over and above.
