"Lovely short stay hotel"

Lovely clean spacious room and a large shower, perfect for a couple of nights. Warm welcome at the reception and in the bar. Evening food was basic but tasty and the buffet breakfast was plentiful and everything you would expect from this type of breakfast.

Bed was a little soft for my liking but that is just personal preference. A larger selection of fruit (maybe a fruit salad) would have been a welcomed extra at breakfast.

"Decent place but not really in Colchester"

Great value for money, comfortable room and convenient for our journey. Rachel, who checked us in ( and seemed to be doing everything!) was friendly and helpful.

We have an electric car and the car charger didn’t work which caused us some problems as we were banking on an overnight charge before our long drive north. The hotel wasn’t actually ‘in’ a place - so no option of walking somewhere to eat elsewhere. The hotel food was fine but it would have been nice to have a choice.

"Convenient location."

Convenient location. Clean.

Extra charge for the car park. The plug sockets in the room did not work and as I was using the hotel before a long travel day, this was very inconvenient. Room fixtures and fittings in need of updating. Breakfast starting at 630 is too late for a travel hotel.

"The staff were very friendly"

Breakfast was very good. It was very easy to get everything you needed. The room was clean and coffee and tea in the room was good. Bed was very comfortable. Air con was good and quiet during the heatwave
