Holiday Inn Express Colchester by IHG

Good location for Colchester, very clean and quiet. Bedroom and shower very presentable.

Was asked to pay for parking £8 a day when it was advertised as parking available. Fortunately, the receptionist waived it. Also, was booked as dog friendly. Definitely not friendly to dogs as we could not use the restaurant area and had to eat breakfast at reception on a table not designed for eating on. We were charged £15 a night for a small dog and wouldn't eat there in the evening because of their policy. Lost revenue . If they advertise as dog friendly, then be that . Have a designated area in the restaurant so other guests are not offended by having a dog there .

There were two proper beds instead of a sofa bed that we were expecting.

We arrived after 3pm The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. Room nice and clean and the shower was a really good size BREAKFAST Excellent choice and plenty of it it was also.hot which was great considering hot plates don't always keep the food at a good temperature. Can't fault the selection at all whether it was hot you were after or cold .

Took alittle while to get served at the bar as only 1 person serving.and they were also taking the orders for food. Quite noisy in the rooms in the evening but that tends to be other residents who aren't quiet after 10.30pm and don't think about others. Only i problem the milk was off when we went to eat our cereal . Told a member of staff and the milk machine was emptied and cleaned straight away .

The location was perfect for my needs

The kettle in room 157 was not working.

Clean and comfortable loved the breakfast

That the tv wasn’t working-

Facilities were good as was the breakfast

There was no bedding for the sofa bed so had to get a member of staff to make it up
