Breakfast was very nice and hot, maybe alternative free drink options could be available ie Latte/Cappucino

The power of the shower could have been stronger

"A reasonably comfortable stay at the end of a 140 mile walk…."

6.0

We stayed at the Hotel Victoria on our last night of hiking the Norfolk Coast Path. It was comfortable enough and a good quiet location on the more pleasant side of Lowestoft right on an expansive sandy beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. 20 minute walk to the railway station for our homebound transport. Restaurant was well appointed, with great sea views and good pleasant service and a good choice of options for dinner and breakfast.

The hotel is probably one of the better ones in Lowestoft. The dining room, bar and downstairs reception rooms seem in good condition but the bedrooms & bathrooms need some TLC. Even hoovering under the beds would help. Amenities in the room were scarce - we had to ask for more tea, milk, shower gel etc. Given the beach is in such close proximity, a beach towel to use on the beach or after a swim would be a nice touch. Windows didn’t open much & no aircon - not such a problem in early May but it would be uncomfortable in higher temperatures.

"A pleasant stay"

8.0

The staff were extremely helpful and nice throughout our stay. I was particularly impressed that the hotel offered silver service.

Lack of toiletries in the room. No shower cap, tissues or enough shower gel, etc.

Great location, nice staff, very clean and tidy, functional and comfortable. Not the most exciting hotel I’ve ever stayed in, but brilliant value.

"Very Good"

7.0

Good views over the sea and beach.

Breakfast choices were very poor. No fresh bread, rolls or pastries. Toast was overdone. My poached eggs were hard. No natural yoghurt. They were very mean with the selection of tea in your room. They also charged a lot to store our bikes overnight.

"A quality classical hotel meeting modern standards of excellence."

10.0

We stayed one night and had an excellent experience. The staff were all friendly, helpful, cheerful relaxed but efficient and smart. The room was way above expection, for the price including and very good breakfast, we also had a good sea view. Our room and ensuite were spacious and immaculately clean. There was everything you expect in a modern hotel, plus some genuine retro style. This is a well run classic hotel delivering to the standards we want totay with style. The location is perfect, for the views over the bay, and it's convenience with local shops pubs and attractions. We definitely hope to return.

"Excellent hotel with real character."

10.0

Excellent value for money, faultless staff attitude service knowledge and presentation. Room was on the Sea front and veiw was great. Spacious room and bathroom, all spotlessly clean, slightly retro in appearance and character. Food was generous portions, breakfast was perfect. Excellent location looking out to the Kitty Hawk hotels on the sand bar, over the new beach huts, add still close to the local pubs and attractions. All staff we saw seemed happy friendly and helpful?

As housekeeping how to put the twin beds together to give us a double, i had no bedside table. so nowhere to put my morning cup of tea, easley solved by using the tea tray.
