"Great Staff"

10.0

I stayed here before and again my rating is 5 ⭐️. All areas were clean tidy and well maintained. The food was great both at dinner and breakfast . However the star of the show here is the staff . They’re all so genuinely polite and Helpful . Aidan on front desk and Leah on the bar and in the restaurant for breakfast were exceptional and made my stay very pleasurable

"A reasonably comfortable stay at the end of a 140 mile walk."

6.0

A reasonably comfortable stay at the end of a 140 mile walk…. We stayed in a twin room with sea view at the Hotel Victoria on our last night of hiking the Norfolk Coast Path. It was comfortable enough and a good quiet location on the more pleasant side of Lowestoft, right on an expansive sandy beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. 20 minute walk to the railway station for our homebound transport. Restaurant was well appointed, with great sea views and good pleasant service and a good choice of options for dinner and breakfast. The hotel is probably one of the better ones in Lowestoft. The dining room, bar and downstairs reception rooms seem in good condition but the bedrooms & bathrooms need some TLC. Even hoovering under the beds would help. Amenities in the room were scarce - we had to ask for more tea, milk, shower gel etc. Given the beach is in such close proximity, a beach towel to use on the beach or after a swim would be a nice touch. Windows didn’t open much & no aircon - not such a problem in early May but it would be uncomfortable in higher temperatures.

The food and location was fab and staff very friendly with good service

Room was far too hot and no air con. The bed was uncomfortable with a hard mattress and pillows too soft and poor quality
