Anchorage Hotel

What a great friendly hotel! Myself & a friend stayed for two nights very comfortable spacious rooms and bathroom. Lovely bar area with ice cream shop & coffees. I thought this was great so many areas to sit outside or indoors. We had a singer one evening too. Breakfast was well cooked & presented good quality ingredients super breakfast! Evening meals were really reasonable priced! Set meals or order from bar area. The waffles & ice cream were yummy! The pool area is fantastic with jacuzzi all you need here for a great time away. I would definitely recommend! All the staff were so friendly chatty & although busy not too busy to have a chat. Excellent service we had a great visit. Rooms were very clean & although our room was a bit older you couldn't fault the cleanliness. Downstairs areas have been updated & have been done beautifully.. The gardens were very pretty with flowers everywhere.

Stayed at the anchorage hotel for 4 nights. Hotel is outdated and overall not clean. Rooms were average beds not very comfortable. Only things clean was the towels and bedding. Hairdryer was disgusting. Shower wasn’t great.Evidence of leak in room ceiling. Thin walls. Breakfast was poor. Sachet coffee, glasses for orange and apple juice smelt of stale water. 3 cereal choices, egg, bacon, beans, hash browns, sausage and toast everyday. No fresh pastries just packet croissants. Didn’t eat any other meal at the hotel as we had breakfast included. Pool and hot tub was nice but wouldn’t have paid extra if it wasn’t included in the booking. Upon arrival staff informed us there was evening entertainment but there wasn’t. The quiet room that we had to pass through to get to our room had a horrible stench of dog. Corridor carpets were in need of a good vac and clean. Staff were friendly.

Great hotel for the price you pay.If you’re on a budget this hotel is an ideal choice it’s in a great location good car parking and the food is good.Evening entertainment is good

Worst night's sleep ever dirty, Extremely old decor food has no flavour property poorly maintained, flies everywhere, spa facilities just a hot tub in a back garden, dirty pool, dirty room,

Basic cleanliness was obviously lacking in this hotel. Some communal areas although dated and in need of a upgrade were relatively clean but the room allocated was totally unacceptable, unclean and beyond dusty. No cleaner had been near.

A very average hotel badly needing updating with staff although very friendly and helpful probably 'going through the motions' to keep their jobs!! Food choice (we were not part of a coach party but a private couple paying £1250-00p for 7 days) extremely poor to say the least with cheap belly pork on offer and self service - impression given was 'take it or leave it'. Food from other menu was extra cost. Poor value for money when coach party guests had only paid about half of the amount we were charged. Overall impression was that the 'pandemic' five years ago had hit hard and hotel was struggling to get back to where it was!! Sorry about these comments but that's how we felt! On a positive note, our king size bed was comfortable, room was kept clean and tidy but we paid a lot of money for a good night's sleep!

Lovely four night stay. Everything was perfect. Staff are so pleasant and a credit to the hotel. We have stayed a number of times and have always enjoyed our stay. It's very dog friendly and made our dogs welcome. The room we had was a bit small but clean and comfy with adequate storage for clothes etc. The breakfast was good as was the evening meal. Nice outside space to sit and relax with coffee and cake served from the cafe if wanted. We will definitely stay again.

Excellent value for money and nice hotel to hang out in during day if you are working on laptop etc because it had a surprise coffee bar and also 24 hr bar. All the staff were amazing. will be back.

Comfortable bed and a good-sized room, but I think the walls are a tad on the thin side as you could hear the neighbouring room(s) tv/radios and no doubt vice-versa. The room was cleaned each day of my 4-night stay. The food was okay, but the menu wasn't particularly exciting. There were only 2 options for dinner each night, and I was particularly disappointed that breakfast didn't include mushrooms. Staff were very good and efficient, though. I also found the dining room was a little warm and stuffy. Nice quiet location and only a few minutes walk from the shops, pubs, and seafront.

The Anchorage was, as always friendly and welcoming. Nice little bar with a pastry breakfast area if you don’t want full breakfast. Comfortable, clean rooms with a generally quiet area.
