The Castle Hotel

Very tatty and not too clean, also didn’t know it only had 3 for local council food hygiene before we went

Older hotel but interesting atmosphere with bar taking most of the first floor of the hotel. Great breakfast. Biggest problem was finding the hotel. We bought a map of the town and still couldn't find it. The hotel signage could have been a little more prominent. Then again, this is England where so many streets wander off in odd directions making it very easy to lose your way. Had a good experience once we arrived.

Fantastic staff, good food and nothing wrong with the room; sure it's dated but it's a lovely historic building and to be expected. Would happily stay again.

Good for an overnight stay as its a great location for the Euro Tunnel to France..Staff & food excellent. Hotel rooms need some TLC.

Arrived on Saturday about 1.30ish pm lady behind bar very friendly asked we could have lunch to be told kitchen was now closed thought that was extremely early but was told cafe across road could be open. We were shown to our room by another member of staff also friendly, The room was very compact and our opinion not very clean , wardrobe very hard to open due to no handle on door. as we were only staying one night we decided we would put up with it, early in the morning somewhere in one of the other rooms someone was having a shower which woke us up it was so noisy, breakfast was ok but only ok, toast was hardly toasted . So all in all would not stay here again .

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Room was fine but could do with a spring clean fx of curtains. Beds were clean and comfy. We liked the breakfast it was served in a cozy room.

Lovely staff, and location. Food very good. Just a bit tired, needs some tlc. And the windows need a good clean!

Perfect location in charming village in Kent. The staff could not have been more helpful. They picked us up from the station and actually took us to the wedding we were attending when the cab company let us down (Thank you David). No it's not the Ritz, but then it doesn't charge Ritz prices. For a comfortable stay in a lovely village pub it could not be bettered. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Excellent value, I would confirm what some other reviewers have said, the accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable, the breakfast was good, staff very friendly. You couldn't ask for more for the money. Would stay there again.

It was perfect we had a wedding at port Lympe so it was comfortable and friendly
