The Castle Hotel

Nice hotel, if a little dated inside and could benefit from a lick of paint. Staff were friendly and food was good. Hotel close to channel tunnel - approx 10-15mins.

Excellent place in a lovely village only 15 minutes from Eurotunnel. Good food and a lovely place to stay over on our way to France, if we could change our booking in France on the return we would stay again on our way back. Only negative would be the WI-Fi was bit weak and the rooms were a little noisy while the pub was still operating (but very quiet after 11.15)

Hotel is a little tired and could do with some refurbishment . Staff friendly and accommodating . Food fresh cooked and good. Our room small and compact. Bathroom needed a coat of paint to freshen up. Families and locals use the pub nice atmosphere .

Stayed for one night as we had a wedding to go to the next day, the ladies behind the bar were very friendly and welcoming. Room was nice, my two children had a bed each at the end of our bed so not much room and my sons bed was a foldable bed but he didn't seem to mind. En suite was clean and shower worked well. Had a nice breakfast in the morning also. Would stay here again.

5 mins to the tunnel, lovely bar man, proper pub.

the room need cleaning and its corner of the bed room with full cobweb. the hotel need updating.

Due to car issues we got there quite late. however on our journey down we called the management and they were very helpful in accommodating us. When we arrived the room was really nice and quaint and had a fantastic 4 poster bed. The best night's sleep I've had in ages! The bathroom was also good standard and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was also included, made to order, was very nice but more convenient.

The bed was comfortable and the linens clean and decent quality. I had a comfortable nights sleep. The bathroom was very dated and would have benefited from updating, however the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful and for a pub stay it was not noisy. There was limited parking but I did find a space. I would expect the hotel would always provide basic but clean and comfortable accommodations and the price is a reflection of this.

Bar and restaurant excellent. Food super and reasonably priced. Rooms were a little tired and the waste plumbing sounded like having an MRI scan.

Lovely reception from the staff, couldn't do enough for us. Dined at the hotel and excellent food and great price. Breakfast brill and all cooked to order. Room clean and spacious. Located in a quiet village.
