Nice place to have a couple of drinks in the beer garden. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

Room was large, comfortable, good night's sleep. Bathroom dated and basic but fully functional. WATER VERY VERY HOT take care. Breakfast good and ample. Bedroom and bathroom could benefit from a deep clean and refresh.

Dave the owner is very pleasant, hard working and cooks a good breakfast, however, When we arrived he was not there and this, I feel was part of the problem (wrong room, beds, shower etc).

Well other reviewers have mentioned the cleanliness here and anyone that doesn't notice this to be a dirty and run down property is being either blind or generous. The building is very old and it shows. The shower is very moldy and dirty. I think there must have been bedbugs or something similar in the lines or bed as I awoke in the morning with bites on my head. The WiFi is essentially worthless. The owner is kind, and willing to cook you any type of breakfast, but the hotel is hugely overpriced for what it is. I strongly recommend you find an alternative place to stay. really, one star is generous.

The quality of the "hotel" is poor for the price. I was offered the "Saltwood" room & when I arrived it was like entering a room filled with fog, but the fog was actually smoke from the kitchen & the room stunk ! This must have been known about in advance as the sash window was opened fully before I arrived. The condition of the fabric of the building was poor. The only redeeming thing was the breakfast. I wont be staying here again.

I took my two boys away for the weekend and the room was large and comfy. We all enjoyed our stay and the cooked breakfast was excellent!

Nice situation, pleasant atmosphere, and convenient for the cross channel ferries. Whole place needs a bit of a makeover. Food excellent. The extractor unit from the Kitchen was very noisy, and just beneath our room.

Very friendly staff and nicely cooked simple breakfast however the whole place and our bathroom in particular could do with a lick of paint and the carpets in the public areas were long overdue a shampoo. They could also do with cleaning the tables in both the pub and dining room more quickly after use.

The hotel is also like a village pub. They kept the restaurant open when we arrived as they were about to close it for which we were very grateful. Room was a double and unusually these days the bed was only a standard double. Decoration in bathroom was showing signs of wear but it was all clean and as described

Had a one night stay in this lovely pub come b&b staff was excellent nothing was to much trouble we stayed in the four poster bed room very comfortable breakfast was excellent would definitely recommend it to everyone
