Beautiful hotel, just know there’s a train nearby.

The pool was closed for maintenance, but there was conflicting guidance on the closure (one door had a closed sign and the other did not) and it also varied depending on who you asked.

The hotel was lovely, but the lighting in the room and bath was too dim. Older adults often have eye problems that make low lighting difficult. At least give us the option on turning it higher. Also, we were in room 316, terrible view, and the air conditioner blows on the bed. Lots of hotels do this and we can't figure out why. Otherwise, lovely hotel.

Lovely, stately hotel. All staff were super nice and accommodating except front desk and one lobby bartender. I think the front desk was unstaffed and overwhelmed. The bartender was on something and very out of it! Our room was large and overall nice - BUT - NO hangers, windows were terribly dirty - so much so I wondered why the housekeeping staff kept opening the drapes each day. When I asked for some hangers housekeeping brought me a real hod-podge of bad hangers. Them I asked for a few more and she had to "get them from other rooms." Rooms were dark and too low on lighting. The AC couldn't keep up with cooling - note - they kept opening drapes after we'd shut them trying to help the situation! We saw a cockroach in the bowling alley. Other than that the bowling area was a great place to go, gather, enjoy a drink. Staff there was super helpful & awesome! Meeting room: nice sized and great staff here. Tablecloths were ill-fitting and super wrinkled. Pretty distracting when you're having an important meeting. Some drapes were bunched up on the window sill since they covered the AC registers. I think they could have found a more attractive way to get them out of the way.

There are enough good features that I plan to give this hotel another chance. Lovely historic hotel in downtown Davenport. However, the hotel is missing some usual amenities (e.g., bottled water in the room) and is short staffed (where was the staff when we had a question upon checking out?)

The place was nothing like the photos or reviews as presented. The hotel was actually a dated and unclean mess. The main entrance is messy and unkept (broken floor tiles, worn fixtures and decor, etc.). The parlor room was disappointing. Seemed like it wasn’t used or maintained in a while (stale smelling, dusty, crap hanging from the ceiling, finger prints on the windows, leaking toilet, dirt on the floors, used Q-Tips on the floor between the bed and the wall). Was very disappointed and disgusted. Two Thumbs Down, way Down !! 👎👎

no shampoo or conditioner in my room and the blowdryer did not work, which I did not realize until I had already gotten in the shower. There was no time to rectify before I had to be ready for my job (reason for the trip), so I had to go with wet knotted hair. Great staff totally fixed this problem when reported later that day and even comped a drink while I waited for housekeeping to help. All staff was lovely... I just wish it had been checked initially.

Initial room had water damage from previous tenant. All the amenities downstairs were closed. They moved us to a better room. And our stay was better but we still hated seeing the jacuzzi closed down (usually a necessity when we travel) and all downstairs shops closed.

Everything went well, staff is excellent both at the desk and also the Restaurant/the Cafe!!

The hotel lobby was beautiful. Very neat old hotel that seemed like it has been restored nicely but kept its old charm. We stayed in a King Suite room that was so huge that it felt like an apartment. We were on the 9th floor and had a good view of the Mississippi River in the distance. The room had a full kitchen with a bar and separate living room. Room was clean. Bath was nice. Bed was comfy. Staff was nice. My only complaint was that we could not get the room temp cool enough. We had the thermostat set as low as it would go, but the bedroom would not get very cool. In their defense, it was over 90 that day, so that probably did not help. Was also disappointed that the restaurant in the hotel was always empty (not a good sign) and hadn't gotten good reviews recently. So, we did not try the restaurant out. In fact, the entire city of Davenport felt like a ghost town.
