Very nice hotel. Shopping and restaurants near by. Staff just seems a little distracted or just used to conferences not hotel patrons.

"Charming hotel, not at the top of its game"

8.0

The BlackHawk was a charming, older, but renovated hotel. Its location was ideal for attending a downtown Davenport event at the next door Adler theater. I found the staff at the hotel reception desk, Bix Bistro and the Coffee Shop to be very helpful and friendly. For an Autograph Hotel, however, there was some room for improvement in several areas: rooms had no recycle bin (not eco-friendly), no makeup or magnified mirror, ice machine broken had to call for room delivery, room had no pens or pads of paper available for notes. Perhaps most disappointing was inadequate staff at the in-house Bix Bistro. We had to wait almost 10 minutes for a receptionist to show up at the restaurant reception desk to seat us for our reservation, and the few staff available (though friendly, apologetic, and efficient) were simply not enough to take and deliver orders promptly (the bar area was well staffed, not the restaurant). Because of these delays we did not have time to order a full meal before the concert, although the appetizers we did order were delicious. I felt sorry for the wait staff who were doing the best they could with insufficient help.

"First and last visit"

4.0

First and last stay at the Blackhawk. Room was extremely overpriced for the quality. Room was filthy. I was delayed at checkin at 5pm due to the attendant needing to confirm the room was cleaned. See photos that show stains and dust/dirt throughout the room. The TV in the bathroom was missing the remote. Concierge had one brought up and it did not work. Really only positive to the stay was the in-room dining and the lovely staff who delivered it. She was fantastic! Disappointing room experience considering the high price.

"Awful. Horrible management."

2.0

My in-laws had their anniversary party there years ago, and I thought it would be nice to reminisce as I was bringing my kids to visit their dad's, and my late husband's, gravesite. When entering, the hotel looks very elegant. However, the room itself smelled like mildew, the bathroom floor was sticky with urine stains, the shower was grimy and talling apart, and the bedsheets had hair and stains on them. My husband and I went to complain, and the desk clerk, who didn't even stand up, kept putting his finger up to us as we were "interrupting" his walkie talkie conversation. The manager came over, and we told her about the room. I also told her that it was not a room I could stay in. Now, here is what she said, "I completely emphasize with you. You will not be charged, and I hope you find somewhere you will be comfortable." Ummmm, what?!? I told her we were there so my middle and high school aged kids could visit their dad's grave. She then suggested other hotels. She didn't offer any other rooms, she didn't offer a free stay, she kicked us out, basically! I was flabbergasted. I was appalled. This was in the evening, where were we supposed to go after driving several hours?!? This didn't go over well with me, as you could imagine. Then, as we were packing up the room, she had sent security to make sure we were leaving!! I have been to many, many hotels, and even the "cheap" ones didn't treat me like this. Just, awful
