"Tudor House"

The central location and car parking was good. The room was spacious and very nicely furnished ... attention to detail great - tea and coffee; water; biscuits; perfume. A great deal of effort had been put into making the room look nice. We ate at the pub and the food was lovely and good value for money.

We were on the top floor and it was horrendously hot. The windows wouldn't open more than a crack. We had a small, ineffective fan which made little difference to the temperature. There wasn't a lot the manager could do about the heat but in retrospect we should have asked for a different room or cancelled the booking.

"Fire alarms need sorting."

The manager did take it seriously that we had a disturbed night with the fire alarms.

The fire alarm went off 30 minutes after midnight and again at 3.am.. WE were given breakfast as compensation as we were booked on room only. We went for breakfast at about 09.15 as we slept later after a broken night and breakfast was a bit of a non event. The next morning we went for breakfast at about 08.30 and it was much better.

The heat in our room was incredible, considering it wasn't really hot outside, the room was a corner room with 3 windows, sun facing. There's no Aircon, but a fan, which does help....but not ideal. Hotel is old but 👍
