La Sommellerie

Friendly staff and clean facilities. Five minute drive to the center of Chateauneuf du Pape and 30 minute drive to Avignon and L'isle Sur La Sorgue. Besides being a very good hotel the restaurant has the best food in town. We ate in town once and it was good but we ate at the restaurant in the Hotel twice it was so good. We recommend this hotel and if not staying at the hotel you should experience the restaurant.

beautiful residence - great location although really close to the (small / country) road - can be a bit noisy traffic depending poor quality and flimsy hardware in bathroom (plastic) for shower / toilet - although design was nice - definitely not what I would expect from an hotel like this - only disappointment there from facilities point of view - breakfast could use some improvements in terms of choices for food and options (would rate average) - pleasant overall

Was great shame the restaurant doesn’t open on Sunday and Monday night

This is probably the worst experience in all my hotel reservation in France. The hotel is located on Departmental D17 which is a major road, so very very noisy. Upon arrival, we were given a small room with a blocked view. When we pointed out to the hotel staff (I think it was the owner) that we were disappointed. we were told that "All Hotel must have a road to get to" and that " We should not spend our time in our room". The staff started to insult us and said that we had no experience with hotels other than chain and that we had no right to be disappointed. He said that we should leave the property without being reimbursed if we did not like it. After that we said that we would not leave without being reimbursed he tried to bully us into leaving. Another staff got involved and she started the same way as the first person. However after a few minutes she realized that we had done nothing wrong and then they decided to reimburse us. My wife and I have stayed at perhaps 200 hotels in Europe, last year we did a trip of 94 days with about 60 different hotels. La Sommellerie has been by far our worst experience ever.

Very pleasant stay in the heart of provence countryside. Stylishly decorated.Food was amazing!

The hotel has been beautifully restored and has a great pool and gardens with lovely common areas for dining and relaxing. The common areas include two large wood burning fireplaces which must be wonderful at Xmas or winter/spring seasons! The breakfast & dinner are very good as is the wine selection and I understand there is also lunch which I didn't see or try. The room is possibly the cleanest room I have ever seen but it is small! The room is small, the wash basin is tiny and the tv is smaller than my computer monitor but why would you be in your room anyway! If you push your wardrobe closer to the corner you have room to put your second bag. There is no fridge in the common area or in the rooms which in an area famous for wine and food was disappointing but the owner did allow us to use the kitchen fridge. And they could really use an area for picnics/dining with your own food/wine. While I understand the need to make revenue from food & beverages it comes back again to an area famous for wine & food which of course we all buy but the rooms are too small to allow in room dining so what to do? The owners were very gracious and helpful and passionate about their hotel. From what they told me they have made amazing progress in the last 3 years and have plans to keep improving. My last tip, pay the little extra for a room with a view!

Although I arrived early (for once - usually I'm late!) - I was made very welcome. The team were very friendly and approachable, the restaurant was excellent and their wine list covered all budgets.

Gorgeous hotel in the vineyards outside of Chateauneuf du Pape. We had a wonderful stay and will stay there again on our next visit.

Good food, nice building , comfortable bed! Hard to find hotel with gps bring map!

We ended up arriving later than expected, but check in was very quick. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Which was very nice.
