"Excellent"

10.0

As Many other people have said it is a hidden gem. We have visited Jaipur for many years for business and know the city well. We chose this place to be near to freinds and what a fabulous place it is in everyway. It is situated in a residential area that is away from all the hustle and bustle of the busy city. Our room was more than comfortable and the beds could not have been better. You are treated with great respect from the family but with also with charm and friendliness. There is a lovely verdent garden to sit in. Breakfast was an excellent buffet, with anything else you wanted made to order. We did not have any other meals as we were out with friends but I am sure all the home cooked meals would be as good as the breakfast. Other members of the staff were also very friendly and helpful in everyway. We left to travel for a while and were so happy to return at the end of our trip and meet up with everyone again. We would certainly stay here again without hesitation.

Great family run colonial house. The rooms are very spacious with a small balcony - very charming sober decoration reflecting the life of the family, cousin of the Mahraja of Jaipur , with a lot of pictures from the family. Very comfortable stay where you feel part of the family Deepali, th owner manager is very very helpful - plenty of valuable tips, and a sense of service rarely seen. on the last night, lost my cellular phone, and she did her wonders to get it back from me ! Excellent location in the center of Jaipur High high recommandation ! Henri

"A little gem near the city centre"

10.0

A real gem to round off our Golden Triangle trip! Lovely large clean rooms...lovely breakfast / sitting area. Buffet (with eggs to order) breakfast basic but fine.. Deepali and her staff were very gracious and she was happy for me to print some travel tickets. Some good restaurants very nearby...Little Italy (above average) and Meraaki Kitchen (quite expensive but lovely place and food) Really excellent value for money...can't imagine anywhere better in this price range. Read the other reviews for more details!

"Exceptional"

This is a truly great boutique property. We were welcomed by the Owner and had a most enjoyable and special stay. We needed to leave very early two mornings and staff woke to provide us with packed breakfasts. It is filled with historic photos and artifacts and it was a really high value stay. Highly recommended

"Barwara Kothi comfort !"

10.0

We simply loved our choice of Barwara Kothi on our visit to Jaipur in October. Since its a home-stay, it was a hidden gem for us - who travel annually as a family to this city for tourists. We have always looked for comfortable and convenient hotels and never thought of looking for a home-stay while we needed to reside in the centre of town. Barwara Kothi offered us the convenience and comfort that most hotels promise but fall short in some way. We could not believe we were in the heart of the city, living in green and peaceful surroundings with everything a visitor would require at just a stone's throw away. At Barwara Kothi, we were able to appreciate the royal legacy without it being overpowering. The homely service by well-trained staff gave us the experience of a home run in the modern day by a family with royal history. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, neat and clean. The decor, pictures and paintings tell the story of royal life in the past and that of the Barwara family. The food, again, is home style Indian fare. Our favourite meal was a special request for home-made Rajasthani food which was delicious and definitely not-to-be-missed - so different from the greasy offerings at hotels and restaurants that abound in Jaipur. We're definitely going back on our next visit and will send all our friends there as well - if, for even, just a brief stay to experience a royal home of today. For a long stay, this would be ideal to come "home" each day to peace and comfort after the day out in a bustling, touristy city.

"Very comfortable stay"

10.0

Our stay was extremely comfortable and homely. The service was outstanding - everything ran according to clockwork. The breakfast was delicious, and I could eat the home-made bread forever! The location of Barwara Kothi was very central. Deepali, the owner was obliging and helpful, and would come along and chat to us whenever we were around. Just a few downsides to the room that we were in (101) - there were very few plug points for charging. Also, while the supply of toilet paper was endless, perhaps a softer toilet paper could be provided. These are minor points. Overall, we had a great time, and are looking forward to staying there again.

"One of the best Hotel with a feeling of Home in Jaipur"

10.0

We looked and searched for a fair bit to find a place which is not extremely expensive or overtly drenched in kitschy Indianness yet had the comfort of home. Finally found it at Barwara Kothi- classy , modern , spacious place. Frankly one of the best value for money places i have been to. Spacious large rooms, spacious bathrooms, clean and sleek in the heart of the city and close to good eateries right across the road. Deepali and her team made us feel extremely comfortable and at home, she had easy recommendations plus numbers of people who are reliable to provide transport and other services and they were seriously spot on. The breakfast was homely and fairly large spread. Frankly nothing to complain about. If i am coming back again to Jaipur this will be the place for sure. Highly recommended for other travellers. Ditch the usual hotels and try this tucked away jewel in heart of the city

"BARWARA KOTHI- A home away from home in Jaipur!"

10.0

Want to have a restful stay in Jaipur? Book into BARWARA Kothi- truly classy and elegant homestay in Jaipur. "Homestay" doesn't actually do it justice, it's more like a beautiful Heritage Haveli. Built as a summer palace, this gorgeous home houses the family of the BARWARA nobility. Run by a lovely lady, who belongs to the royal family, the home is elegant beyond words! The walls are lines with photographs of the royal family. Silver artefacts lie around on tables. Jaipur handlooms and upholstery give the home a regal touch. White marble floors make the large home look even bigger. Huge garden gives the home a lovely, restful feeling. Beautifully appointed and large rooms, elegant interiors reminiscent of royal palaces, well-appointed bathrooms with all comforts and amenities, quiet and unobtrusive service by the Man Friday, simple but tasty home-cooked meals- all this and more at a very nominal room rate! We loved our 2 nights stay at BARWARA Kothi and will be going back for sure! Thank You for the memories!

"Barwara Kothi was a "home" - when our group really needed one"

10.0

I previously wrote about the professionalism and comfort of this homestay after I stayed in 2014. When a tummy bug infected three members of our group travelling in India THIS year, they were happy and relieved to be at BK, and the well-managed, safe and caring environment it provided to recover. After this recent visit, I particularly wanted thank Deepali and her staff for the care they took of my husband and my two friends while they were ill. Deepali and her staff were helpful when needed, but also gave our group space and privacy to rest, as well as advice on where/how to get medication. This guesthouse has a great location in Civil Lines, with a terrific spa a few doors down, and a branch of Fab India in an adjacent building, as well as shops and cafes just a stroll away in the neighbourhood. It's quite a busy road, but the building is well back from the street, behind a fence and garden, and there are good public transport options close by. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, very well maintained, and clean-as-a-whistle. It was a shame our group was mostly too ill to enjoy the well prepared homemade food available at BK. Deepali also put our group in touch with a transport firm that organised airport transfers and a very good driver for onward travel to Bharatpur and Agra. This is a great mid-range option, and the prices make BK good value. Thanks again for your hospitality, Deepali. We hope to see you again soon.
