Fitzroy Island Resort

Loved the relaxed vibe on the island, being able to walk straight out to the beach and go snorkeling, walking…

The property is outdated and the beds are old. I have heard green island is also just as outdated and more expensive. The resort seems like its family run and it’s nice to support a real person instead of a company. The staff were very friendly and seemed like young people who are traveling as well. Which is fun to share in their adventures as well. The food was very tasty and nice to have high-quality fancy meals at Zephyr or casual meals at the beach. The view and gardens are breath taking and the little reef had so many fish and 3 turtles. So so convenient to have if all right there. The hike to nudie beach was outstanding walk, well maintained through the rainforest and may be our favorite beach we have been to in Australia. The hike to the summit took us a few hours and will make you sweat. But it so worth the views. It is exactly what you think of when you picture paradise.

The rooms are outdated. Old beds. The rest of the property is new and modern. Feels kinda like the first season of white lotus.

Not much to dislike. Only thing was that I stayed for 2 weeks and the bed could have been a little bit more comfortable.

Some areas required maintenance. Only one set of bifold doors were openable to our room. .

This island and the adventures you can have outdoors are amazing! We saw many green sea turtles right off the beach, lionfish, angelfish and much more! The staff were lovely and the food in both zephyr and the bar was great - they also did a great job catering for me who is coeliac.

The hotel is like an abandoned hotel, many unused areas, very dirty bathrooms, both run down and with sanitary bins open and overflowing. All the glass around the pool and in the bedrooms was dirty. We had read reviews prior to going, so booked the best room we could find for our family of four but I’m not normally over picky, but it was damp and mouldy. They were painting which helped make some areas look fresher but it needs a lot more.
