Friars Carse Country House Hotel

Breakfast was very minimal just cereal, juice and coffee.

It is a nice property with small trails that you can walk on, nice river flowing by, rooms were clean and kitchen has everything we needed. Bathrooms were clean and plenty of towels.

The room was not clean, dust all over every surface. The carpet has wired smell. The windows were dirty.

Lovely start, great location, good food. Historical property, so obviously parts are a little tired. But really lovely

We didn’t know that the breakfast included in the price was only a continental breakfast A full cooked breakfast was an extra cost.

Surcharge for cooked breakfast, when we booked it said breakfast included. Only continental included, but very little choice of items

Continental breakfast choice was very limited, cooked breakfsts were good. dinner was excellent but not very varied if staying for a few days. location was fantastic.

first room was very small but we were upgraded on 2nd day to a larger and more updatd room.

The property and grounds are amazing. This is an old building converted to welcome travellers. It’s quaint there are several ancient oak and yew trees in the grounds and river walks. The view from our room was of the Nigh River. You could easily stay here for a few days as long as you accept it’s an old property

I didn’t enjoy the meal or the selection. The choice is varied and to Bistro for me as a traditionalist. That’s not saying it was bad just didn’t suit my taste.
