Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina

Giuseppe was our waiter and he provided truly outstanding personalized service. He helped create a romantic evening dinner with my wife as we celebrated our 38th anniversary at the Hotel Timeo. A very special server.

The location was perfect. The Hotel was clean, quiet, and food and service was amazing. I would 100 percent recommend going this Hotel.

If there was a rating higher than excellent my wife and I would select it for all categories!! The property location was second to none, and the envy of the thousands of tourists passing by the luxurious front gate and vine covered portico. The staff anticipated every need and request and attended immediately to any comment or request. Food was exceptional thanks no doubt to the Michelin rated chef. Appointments in the rooms were second to none. The staff, from the valet to the front desk, to the waiters, to housekeeping, and the managers all made us feel welcome and like family. They greet you with your name and recall any inquiries about seeing a sight, or stores you might visit. The history and pedigree of the Grand Timeo added to the ambience and special atmosphere of this unique treasure. Put it on your bucket list!!! Will be viewing all Belmond properties before booking any other hotel. Words cannot express our pleasure and satisfaction.

Our stay was wonderful from when we first stepped on the property to the moment when we left. The property is beautiful with an amazing view, scenic grounds and excellent common spaces. The rooms are fairly nice. They have lots of character, plenty of storage (which many hotels don’t have nowadays) and nice bathrooms though the junior suites are much nicer than the deluxe rooms. A minor refresh might be of benefit. The pool is great- heated with plenty of chairs, responsive attendants and wonderful views. It is fairly easy to get to the beach (worth doing at least once) at their sister property which is a nice change of pace. Breakfast is great. Though there are plenty of items available at the buffet (including pastries that look like they are from a patisserie), they make many items to order. Dinner at both restaurants (Otto Gelang and Timeo) was excellent (tho at one point the staff at Timeo seemed a little overwhelmed- a minor hiccup). Additionally, during the stay, there are always little treats peppered throughout the day which are nice surprises. What really sets the hotel apart and why we are eager to return, however, is the service. Almost every member of the staff that you encounter makes a point of making sure that your needs are met and that you feel well taken care of- from the porters, front desk, concierge to the pool attendants. Everyone knows your name by the second day. When we forgot something in the car from the airport, the staff went out of their way to make sure we got it back quickly. When our plans at our next destination changed, they called to rearrange the reservations we had made. All in all the service was basically flawless and the reason why we already making plans for a return visit.

The Belmond Timeo Taormina hotel was one of the best properties that we have ever stayed at. The service and staff were incredible. They were all so helpful. No task was too big or too small. The grounds were beautiful, the views were breathtaking, and the pool area was also very nice. The breakfast had a huge selection of local and international varieties of food. I would recommend this hotel to everyone looking to get pampered and tested as a valued guest. The location was right in the middle of old town.

The location is exceptional, very close to the theater and with an excellent view on both the gulf and mount Etna. The hotel itself is amazing and the staff is among the best we've ever experienced. An amazing stay.

This review is specifically for head concierge Santi Roggio at the Grand Temeo. We were staying at the Four Seasons and happened to be dining at Otto Geleng at the Grand Temeo. On our ride in, we realized there the is a concert next door at Teatro Antico, with a classical performance for a Tribute to Queen and Coldplay. These are two of my wife’s favorite bands. I looked online to see if I could find anything. Nothing was available. We contacted our concierge at the Four Seasons who informed us they were not able to get us tickets. Finally, as a desperate last minute attempt, I went in from dinner and was fortunate to run into Santi who I asked if he was able to get tickets. He looked online and told me the show was sold out, but told me he would do his best and get back to me. 15 minutes later, he informed me while we were eating that he was in fact able to get us 2 tickets to the show. We finished our meal and he personally escorted us into the theater with a small goody bag and a couple bottles of water for the show. The show was one of the highlights of our trip! The level of service provided by Santi and the Belmond team was incredible. If you are reading this Santi, thank you for making such a memorable night for my wife and I. We are truly grateful for you.

If you want to experience luxury along with local charm and comfort, stay at the Belmond Hotel. With its location, breathtaking views, and authentic design, the Grand Hotel Timeo is truly a beautiful property. Inside, the Michelin-starred restaurant and the rich breakfast are very satisfying in terms of taste. The staff were also very attentive and helpful.

We arrived here and were met by Davide (from the bar). He was such a kind and friendly chap who served us some delicious Sicilian wine! The views are immaculate however it was Davide who stole the show!! The service was top notch and our big round of applause goes to Davide! Thank you !
