Riad El Yacout

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Riad El Yacout. The Riad itself is breathtaking—it is incredibly ornate and beautifully laid out, making you feel like you are staying in a true Moroccan palace. The location is perfect, situated just a short two-minute walk from the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), which made exploring the Medina very convenient. The rooms were also a wonderful surprise; they are impressively spacious and provided a comfortable retreat after a busy day. A special mention must go to our host, Marcos, who truly made our stay unforgettable. He catered to our every request and ensured we were comfortable at all times. Marcos is extremely friendly and watches over his guests like they are his own family. We felt so safe and well taken care of. Highly recommended!

La habitación que me dieron, pésima, tenía un olor terrible, la decoración de miedo y debido al olor insoportable tuve que pedir que me movieran a otra habitación.

The main building with reception, breakfast and dinner, is stunningly beautiful. The staff tries really hard, and we appreciated them very much. Good location near the Blue Gate, which made it easier to find our way around. I highly recommend using an offline map on your cellphone, like Organic Maps, to find your way in the old city. The hotel provided excellent transfers from the train station to the Riad and from the Riad to the airport.

J ai réservé un massage. Très déçu par la salle de massage qui est vraiment basique et pas jolie du tout. Massage ok mais pas belle expérience .. Le guide réservé par l’hôtel a essayé de nous arnaquer du début à la fin. Il ne nous a rien appris.. nous a fait courir dans la médina pour voir des boutiques d argan ou de tapis (proposés 10 fois s plus chers) alors qu on était intéressé par l’architecture.. sans intérêt.. passez par l’office de tourisme ..

This is the first ever Riad we stayed in during our 8 Nights 9 Days trip in Morocco. It was very charming. It’s in a great location. Staff especially rapper Marcus was wonderful. Breakfast was plentiful. Should you choose to have dinner at the Riad, they will make it for you. We have had pleasant two nights here and we highly recommend it.

Exceptional service. A special shout-out to the Moroccan Slim Shady - Marcos and all of the staff; superb. Beautiful riad, rooms were very clean with lots of light. Moroccan breakfast served family style. Dinner is available with advance notice. Great location in the Medina for walking.

When visiting Morocco, you really should stay in a riad for at least one night. It offers a unique cultural charm and a private, cool oasis within the bustling medina. One challenge, however, is that the medina is largely a pedestrian area, making many riads inaccessible by car and difficult to find — even with Google Maps. We chose this riad mainly because of its ideal location, just a five-minute walk from Batha Square. This riad showcases stunning Moroccan features, including intricate tilework (zellij), carved cedarwood, traditional Moroccan furniture, detailed plasterwork, and a classic inward-facing design. While some areas of Riad El Yacout show noticeable wear, that only adds to its retro character — exactly what a great riad should have. Upon our arrival, Marcos shared interesting history about the riad and added a personal touch to our stay by showing us all its historic features and serving traditional Moroccan breakfasts.
