"Amazing hotel, exceptionally clean and would def come again"

10.0

Amazing hotel, exceptionally clean and all staff were friendly and helpful. The infinity pool is amazing with some lovely views over the sea. Couldn’t fault anything about our stay and we would definitely return here again. Location is good for getting into Rhodes old town via taxi and if you go to the rank just past the roundabout they put you in mini buses together if going to the same place which cut the cost down 😃

"Lovely Holiday"

8.0

After reading recent reviews we were a little apprehensive about what to expect from the hotel but we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is beautifully clean and all the staff that we encountered were always very smiley and friendly. We had booked half board but ate out every night as there were lots of restaurants we wanted to try, the hotel allows you to use your food allocation for lunch which we did on multiple afternoons. We always found there was a good selection of food, we stayed for 10 nights and didn’t find it was overly repetitive. We also ate in few restaurants In ixia, we would highly recommend El Gecco, great atmosphere, Greek dancing, music and plate smashing, Dream Cream ice cream is also a must! The pool area is lovely and very clean, people do go down to reserve beds quite early however we never struggled to get a bed. Music around the pool was a nice touch and varied genre. We used the bus almost everyday to Rhodes, tickets can be purchased from the shop next door, the buses can be quite busy and will just drive past if too full so always allow more time that you might need just in case it’s busy. On our last day we had to vacate our room at 11am and our airport transfer was not until 9pm. I had read that you could pay an additional €55 euros to keep the room until 5pm but the hotel have showers and a changing area that you can use which was really handy so we didn’t feel the additional charge was worth paying. I will agree with other reviews that I do not believe the hotel is 4*, as some of the decor is a little dated and lacking character. As we went out every evening we could not comment on the evening entertainment however it never looked too exciting as we passed on our return. Overall we had a fantastic stay, if you are looking for a clean, well run hotel in a good area I would not hesitate to recommend Belair Beach!

"fab hotel with lovely staff"

8.0

Great hotel, our party of 8 have just had a fab week. The rooms are lovely with kettles and fridges, hairdryers, air con & all the usual facilities. The maid service is good & tea/ Coffee are topped up when needed. The all inclusive is very much worth the money & the food is great with plenty of choice. entertainment both day and night was good & there's a beach over the road that costs just £5 all day all day for a sunbed, we chose mostly to go on the beach for the breeze as both pools are real sun traps ( music is great around the pool but there is a quiet pool as well ) all the staff are happy and amenable, all in all a fab place and in a good location & only £10 in a taxi to Rhodes centre - loved it!

"Not 4 star more like 3 star"

6.0

This Hotel is in Ixia in Rhodes . Its got bus stops and a bit of a range of bars and shops and restaurants but not many at all . The area is a bit run down in parts. The hotel has a main road in front, which is noisy and busy . Trying to cross to get to the beach is difficult. The beach is very dissapointing very pebbly and rocky and rough . Ideal for wind surfing and surfing but to swim it'd challenging . 25 Euro for 2 sunbed and umbrella on the better ones or 5 Euro for the cheapest ones but not such nice area or beds The hotel is very basic. It has 2 large pools. The lagoon pool overlooks the main road . The pool area is busy and noisy very loud music from the speakers . Sunbed they are still taken at around 7am as lots of family's like the same spots daily . There is a quieter pool which we enjoyed but it does get alot of shade so u need to plan where ull sit to get the most benefit of the sunshine. The loungers are so old and uncomfortable. They really do need to update these . We felt the poolside snacks were very poor. Chips or pork or small seafood salads and cake . Nice bar by the quiet pool but again very cheap beer and spirits for all inclusive guests . Cocktails were very boring and not appetising. Food was ok was always a wide variety. Lots of fish and salad and meats and vegetables. Breakfast was bacon eggs etc carrots abd onion pie which we thought was odd at breakfast. There was cereal and Greek yogurts and cakes and croissants. Fruit wasn't a great choice. The hotel is so dull The bar is not inviting at all . The chairs outside for the evening are terrible metal chairs again really uncomfortable. You can sit inside but its like a canteen not an attractive bar . The entertainment is very poor . The odd singer and Greek dancers who to be fair were quite good. Not much going on for kids no mini disco . No comfort with this hotel for a 4 star its not great at all never comfortable in the foyer air con never on . Rooms are ok very clean. The cleaners work very hard every day and are very friendly. We had a twin pool view which was nice but 2 single beds pushed together. We had a fantastic view of the pool and beach . The system were a mixture I found most reception staff were miserable especially the women . We were Greeted our first night by a gentleman on reception he was very welcoming. We got to our room and had 2 plates of food left in the fridge as we arrived late . Rhodes it self is wonderful we visited the old town, lindos abd symi island beautiful scenery but although of travelling to get there . Bus drivers are very Grumpy too not the best with people . Our view is this a poor 4 star hotel .

"All(most) Inclusive"

6.0

I have travelled to the Greek islands in the past, but this was my first visit of Rhodes. We travelled as two couples, and had a really relaxed 10 night stay at the Belair Beach hotel, but some items I have added to my review here are accurate and I really hope the hotel can work on to improve the experience for future guests, as the resort does have a lot of potential. Firstly, I agree with many comments I have read regarding the star rating. This is definitely NOT a four star hotel based on others with the same rating that I have stayed in previously. This is an average three star resort at best. It feels that the inflated star rating has been set so that guests need to pay an inflated tourist tax which needed to be paid on arrival. We had to pay the €100 fee for for our stay. LOCATION The resort was really well situated. The transfer time from the airport was only around 20 minutes, and around the same time for a short bus/taxi ride into Rhodes town - which is an excellent place to visit. There is the beach directly opposite the hotel but the road in between can be busy and crossing is a bit tricky (we did eventually find a small underpass at the nearby Rodos Palace hotel). The beach was stones and not very sandy. There were costs for hiring sun beds and parasols as you would expect, and there were water sports available where you could hire jet skis etc. STAFF Most of the staff at the hotel seemed to be nice and helpful when needed, especially in the restaurant, they were a great team. Big shout out to George who served us on a daily basis, what a friendly and charming young man he is! The exception was for the staff on reception who were offish and came across as rude when help/information was required. ROOMS (ADDITIONAL COST €20) The rooms, although basic, were clean and offered the standard facilities you would expect. Tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, mini fridge and a balcony overlooking the pool and most that I could see offered a sea view. Safe boxes were €20 to hire for the duration of the stay (non refundable). Our room was cleaned by the maids on a daily basis, room towel swaps were made most days (not all) and beds were remade. FOOD/DRINK Food was a bit 'hit and miss' for a couple of picky eaters in our party. Some evenings proved to be a struggle to find anything they could eat. There was the usual stalwarts of any buffet that were on offer every night - pizza/chips/salad. We resorted to spending more money by visiting restaurants along the road on a couple of occasions and saw others with the all-inclusive wristbands from the hotel also there. Certain drinks are not included in the all-inclusive board and the biggest failure of this hotel is that no bottled water is included. At all. This needed to be purchased at the supermarket next door. Never have I ever stayed in an all-inclusive hotel boasting so many stars and having to pay for bottled water. If the owners/management of the hotel read these reports, they need to re-address this. Standard menu of cocktails (there were 12 in all, Pina Colada lovers will be disappointed!) and local beers and spirits were included. Branded drinks needed to be purchased by everyone, which was to be expected. ANIMATION/ENTERTAINMENT (ADDITIONAL COST €10pp) The animation team consisted of just two people who were really nice, but were only mostly seen during the evenings although I understand that there were pool activities in the main pool area during the day (water aerobics and volleyball). We only discovered this in the latter part of the holiday. It would have been a nice touch for some form of communication to others that wanted to relax in the quieter pool area so that everyone knew what was on and when. There was one evening a week with the Greek music and dancing provided by an outside group which was the highlight. Another external act we saw on one night was a fire eater/bead of nails/walking on glass act. Listening to the same 1980’s playlist on loop all evening was a bit poor on many evenings. On bingo nights, you had to fork out an additional €10 each to participate. What!? Other nights consisted of a quiz and karaoke. Additionally, experiences that I thought were intrusive were the photographers who badgered you a couple of times a week as you entered the restaurant at dinner. They ask you to pose for photographs which were available to view/purchase the next morning at breakfast and you felt obliged to buy them - these cost €50. Then there was the guy during the evening entertainment who went from table to table peddling his own art work. POOL AREAS We did decided to use the older pool area as it did seem quieter which we preferred to relax around - I’m not sure how often this pool was cleaned as the water on some days seemed cloudy and you could feel grit/sand under your feet. After mentioning this to the reception, a guy appeared the next morning to hoover the pool floor - apparently according to the hotel manager was meant to have been done daily, but it wasn't. For those travelling with small children, there are shallow pool areas on both sides, but on the quite side all of the pool cleaning equipment and containers of chemicals were stored right next to it. Safety issue right there. There were plenty of sun beds around both the new and older pool areas, and there was a notice on the information sheet provided at check-in that people who were to reserve sun beds early would have their towels removed by staff. This was never adhered to, no towels were removed. So it was a bit of a free-for-all. Pool towels are provided to guests and a deposit of €10 per towel (cash only) was need to hire these. You were able to change these every other day. When returning these on your final day, the deposit was returned. LAST DAY / LATE CHECK OUT (ADDITIONAL COST €55) We had a late flight back home and on our last day we took advantage of the late check out option where we were charged another 55 Euros to check out at 5pm rather than at the scheduled 11am slot. Knowing that we now had this booked, we arrived at the pool to catch the last day's sun, only to receive a telephone call from reception telling me that they needed my room back as they needed to allocate this to new arrivals from 1pm that day. They offered me a room up on the 5th floor, I was on the 2nd floor originally so I would have had to make several trips along the corridor and up stairs/lifts to move all of our belongings. I refused this and they were able to offer another room on the 2nd floor for us to move into. This move took over an hour so we lost this time, and and felt really unhappy with being shoved around on our last day. The lady on the desk did apologise and admitted it was her fault for not checking incoming guests before I paid for the extension, and did allow us to keep the room until we needed to depart the hotel for the airport which was at 1930hrs. We did really enjoy our first visit to Rhodes, as it is a beautiful island, and would love to return and holiday there again, but would probably look for an alternative hotel.

"Poor hotel"

4.0

I have just returned from a 10 night stay at this hotel, returning on the 13 th of sept, I would like to say as a postitive which there is not many, the rooms are clean the bathrooms are old and very small needlng updating a room that was in the old part of the hotel, the room had a balcony that was over looked from every single angle, I felt I could not go and sit out there as a woman on here own, I felt uncomfortable plus another disgusting guest thought it was a good idea to throw used sanitary products on to my balcanoy another member of our group went down to reception to report what someone was doing as I wasn’t going to Pick it up, there reply was oh well what can we do about that said they would send a cleaner to deal with it which they did but they put it in the ashtray on the table on the balcony. Not what I wanted. As for the receptionists in this hotel a few were ok one was very rude every time you spoke to her could not be bothered to even smile made you feel you could not go to the desk, I cannot name her as she did not wear a name badge, funny that. I paid a lot of money for the all inclusive package, it’s not worth it. Food is awful pasta and pork every night they do not supply bottled water any where, flat fizzy drinks and the main bar is open to 11 every night then after that time you have to pay for all your drinks. The swimming pool is dirt, I had sickness a sore eye and now I’m home an infection in my big toe, In the end I would not use the pool I just sat in the Baby pool, I Know another guest complained about the pool and they did clean it. But I know that guest was unwell a few days after me. The disabled access it’s not good here either people were really struggling lifting there family’s wheelchairs up steps. I paid to keep my room the day I left until 5 as I wasn’t traveling to airport until 8:15 at night and you have to vacate your rooms at 11 in the morning 55 euros it cost me. Then when I dicided to go back to the room to shower they had stopped the pass card from working so I could not get in so had to go back to reception to the lovely happy lady who politely informed me you still need to be out of the room by 5 even though I had been locked out of it. There is so many things about this hotel that are not good but it would take me a week to write them all down. It was a lot of money for a very poor disappointing experience. I will not be returning.

"Not made to feel welcome."

6.0

Just recently returned from belair beach hotel, which is lovely and clean. Good food. Very poor entertainment. Some staff weren't that friendly, especially on reception, it was like everything was an effort from them. Also very slippery around the pools. Not a friendly atmosphere. Didn't need music everyday, when trying to relax and chill around the pool.

"Take me back to Rhodes"

10.0

Just returned after 10 nights at the BELAIR beach hotel and it was amazing , all of the staff were so helpful. The room was spotless , cleaned every other day with clean towels. We had an executive room overlooking the sea. The food was varied and something for everyone. The beach opposite was clean and you could hire 2 sun beds and an umbrella for £10 euros . A bus service from outside the hotel took you into the old town and we took a few trips to other beaches on the island , so much history at times you felt like you were in another century. Rhodes we loved you and would go back in a heartbeat

"Lovely hotel"

10.0

After reading some reviews we were unsure what to expect. We arrived late but checkin was seamless and there had been a plate of food made up for us and put in our fridge in the room. We were half board and was advised at checkin that we could switch dinner for lunch any day which gave us loads of flexibility. The buffet style dining was varied and plenty to choose from and kept well stocked. Highlight for me was the cheese board they had on one evening, so many cheeses! The staff worked tirelessly and nothing was ever too much trouble, very attentive without being intrusive and always on hand to offer local advice. The hotel is more traditionally decorated however I don’t see this as an issue, the rooms were spotless beds comfortable and additional pillows in the wardrobe if needed. We tended to go more to the smaller quieter pool where we never had any sunbed issues and the pool staff once again were great. Only thing they I would give a slight mark down on was the evening entertainment however we went out and about most nights. Plenty restaurants and bars locally if you don’t want to venture far but only a short taxi ride to Rhodes town. All in all we had a great week at the Belair.
