Pullman Brisbane King George Square

Enjoyed my stay at the Pullman hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Very comfortable bedroom. Evening meal very good.

Although the hotel is a little older, it is comfortable and clean. The staff are reasonably friendly, but I rated the hotel lower on service because of the check-in experience. I was traveling with a colleague who had booked directly with the hotel. She and I both requested early check-in. I was told my room was not ready and that they would contact me when it was available. She was allowed access to her room right away. No one contacted me, and it really felt like they disliked that I had booked through this site. I felt very dismissed and ignored, compared to others checking in around me. If they don't want to work with third party vendors, then they really should not offer rooms through those vendors.

Friendly staff with easy check in, room was spacious and clean,no noise from neighbouring rooms, comfortable bed. the TV included the Fox channels with the sports, unlike other hotels I have been just have free to air channels.

This is a nice hotel . Expansive lobby. Many seats available. Welcome water for waiting guests. Vending machine in the vicinity. There is a restroom that can be accessed if you are a guest or just ate at their coffee shop. Front desk is shared by Mercure and Pullman. After 3 days I later realized that Mercure wing is the noisier or rowdier since there is connection to the rooftop bar. The executive twin bed room looks modest , but tired. Smart Tv I think needs chrome cast to have streaming function, but they have movie on demand complimentary service. Fair lighting and cooling. Hard beds though , but it maybe my subjective assessment. No welcome amenities . Even bottled water although I later realized that tap water is drinkable in this country . Nespresso machine is ok , but noticed to have no decaf coffee pods. Service wise, front desk staff who checked me in , took my contact number and assured me that she’s calling once room is available. Later in the afternoon, with a different FD in duty , they had my card keys all along. The bell staff are polite to hold my bags while we move around the square waiting for our room availability. No offer to help bring our huge luggages however. 2nd night I went to the rooftop bar at around 9:15 pm to get my welcome drink. Staff manning there told me nonchalantly they are closed. I asked if I can just have the drinks as take away , since it said the bar closes at 10 pm in their elevator . He became a somewhat rude telling me to get my drinks at the coffee shop at the ground level the following morning because they are closed. Breakfast is not included in the package , but I still tried it. The buffet spread was respectable. But if you plan to stay longer , a plethora of breakfast places are abundant outside the hotel . Location wise. This is within the tourist zone area, just in the square where many photo ops abound . Going out the hotel either which side you go are restaurant, shops and convenience stores. Further out is the SouthBank parklands and bridges. Walking distance to the vast Queen Street Mall . But if you’re looking more central or shop convenient , the Hyatt Regency takes the cake. Aside from several incidents , would like to acknowledge FD Maria for being friendly and helping us with suggestions where to dine. She was the only one to recognize and thank me for being an Accor Silver member.

If you want to feel like you’re going back in time to a land before anyone understood customer service this is the hotel for you. Nothing works, everything is tired & sub standard. They’ll greet you with a glower at reception, nobody will help you with your bags, then they’ll forget to order your taxi on departure. There is a complete lack of leadership. The team would prefer to stand around gossiping than be of any help. Never felt so uplifted moving on to the next hotel! Needs knocked down and started again….

Horrible experience. Definately NOT 5 star. Bathroom is old and the shower is in the bath and is so slippery that I slipped over when washing my hair and now have a massive lump on my shin. This hotel is so overpriced. I tried to call the front desk from my room and there was no answer. So I called concierge, no answer, then I tried housekeeping, no answer. Unbelievable. I come to brisbane monthly for work and normally stay at the Adina - so much nicer and significantly cheaper. I thought I would try the Pullman as it said it was 5 star and their two Sydney hotels are very nice. The Brisbane one is like a Travel Lodge. I would urge anyone to not stay here!

Definitely not a 5 star hotel, at best 3.5. Staff were excellent and they were the only redeeming feature. A tired hotel, curtains shabby, only one comfortable chair available apart from the desk chair which had the vinyl peeling off it. No bottled water in the room, no information regarding the hotel facilities, poor lighting. We asked to be moved as it was so noisy. Parking so expensive $55 a day. We have stayed in many hotels all over the world and expected a better standard. This hotel needs to be renovated.
