Pullman Brisbane King George Square

We had a balcony room which was spacious. Sadly this hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade however its location is fantastic. Our room was dusty and I had to pull our bed, bedside tables etc away from the wall for the cleaning staff to vacuum. The carpet was shabby with holes. We were only given decaf coffee and tea bags that looked a bit old. Yes our towels were also threadbare. I was surprised to find out that this is a 5 star hotel maybe it was back in the 80s. The reception staff thankfully were very attentive especially the tall blond young man who helped us get a few room issues sorted. Apart from that the rooftop bar is great and so is the breakfast cafe.

Well first impression when walking in was very nice. Few people checking in but went fast enough easy to check in. polite and friendly check in person. Room had twin room was a lot bigger then all other hotel rooms I have had in any hotel chain. Nice big bathroom. Two things no bottle water in fridge no slippers.both beds were big but did wake up with stiff back. Decent size TV had all foxtel channels. I could live with that but she like walking around with something in her feet. instant coffee no pods but don't drink coffee. Another minor problem was lift the floor level light didn't work it's OK when just you in it but when a few people going up everyone was looking for floor number on the wall. Breakfast was good enough had everything you normally eat plenty of room but was busy peak time. Hotel is placed in idea location close to everything. Well everything we wanted to do. Overall I was impressed with hotel would definitely stay there again

Easy check in great experience wil definitely do again

With the price I have paid, it’s not value of money. The staff service is just so so. Only reception and house keeping are friendly. The room with balcony is outdated and less facilities and amenities, it’s just like 3/4 star hotel compare to other Pullman hotels, not at that level of Pullman standard. Breakfast options is limited. I won’t come back. Voco Hotel is much more nicer and the staff service is much more better. When you stay there, it’s like a home, they are smiling and welcoming, and helpful.

Hotel was tired. I arrived late directly from the airport and got to check in at 23.31 hoping I may have caught the bar open so I could get a snack and a drink as I was parched. Only to be told sorry the bar closed at 11.30pm!! The following evening I came back earlier from being out at 10.45 so I could catch the bar and have a nightcap only to be told sorry we shut the bar as there was nobody in there!! You couldn't write it!! In my room I found a plug socket hanging off the wall along with a very dark bathroom as the main light did not work and when you turned the tap on the water shot up and out to the side as well as a trickle downwards. The elevator did not show which floor you were getting off at so you needed to stick your head out and look on the wall. There was only one bedside table and one lamp in the room. It was not what I expected of a Mercure Pullman hotel. I will not be staying there again. I did tell them at checkout but it seemed to go without notice.

My room was not ready at 4:30pm. Concierge did not answer phone after x 3 calls for car. No usb charging points Room smelt dirty Slow lifts

Nice enough, comfy bed. First room had a damp smell and some black mould on vent, they kindly moved my room and that was improved significantly. Pool was a bit hard to get to from Pullman tower. Business trip so it was fine.

I’d like to start by saying I sent the below feedback to the hotel manager email 24 hours before I posted this review, to give them the opportunity to respond. I did not get a response. To say we were disappointed in this alleged 5 star hotel would be an understatement. I’ve been in third world countries and received better service and surroundings. We travel regularly for work and this stay was three days in total. On arrival we did not receive any assistance with our bags (the porter watched us get out of the taxi and collect our 4 bags before watching us carry them inside). Once inside he did offer us a trolley and loaded our bags onto it, but when I asked if they could be brought up to our room this was refused and had to push the trolley ourselves. 6 hours later the trolley was still outside our room. The room was not cleaned properly - the fabric headboard was stained and dusty, there was a dirty glass and washcloth in the bathroom, toothpaste residue all over the taps and clothes moths throughout the room. The carpet was torn, there was only one bedside lamp (and it was broken), one chair (unlike the picture of the room which showed two) and no bedspread or throw cushions as advertised. The towels were threadbare, only 2, no additional pillows in the cupboard nor robe as advertised. No toiletries, coffee machine or mini bar as advertised either. The air conditioning thermostat did not work - so you either froze when it was on or sweltered when it was off. The internet did not work either, and on calling the help line for the internet I was told there was a “billing issue” with the hotel and had to be provided with a special code so I could conduct my work. Each day on our return we found the room remained poorly cleaned - beds not made properly, tea bags not replaced ironing boards left up, no vacuuming, and strangely kept turning the fridge up (we had turned it down as it was not cold enough to keep our milk fresh). My husband and I are both Accor members, and this hotel is well below our expectations for a “5 star hotel”. And our booking is supposed to be a “deluxe” room! Do yourself a favour and book the Hyatt, it’s the same price and actually IS a 5 star hotel.

Extremely pathetic service. Yhe showers and toilets were leaking. Air con wasn't working. I asked for room service the food arrived 2 hours later.

Valet parking was excellent, so easy. Excellent breakfast
