Cedar Manor

If you are looking for a BnB in Windermere, you cannot go wrong with Cedar Manor! Beautiful room, comfortable bed, and the best breakfast you’ll have in the Lake District. (You get to fill out a menu the night before.) Lovely gardens, classy lounges to relax in… The couple who runs this site like clockwork are Caroline and Jonathan, and they ensure your stay is top notch all round. Be sure to book an afternoon tea there. You won’t be sorry. They’ll also help with where to hike- or book a taxi for you. We didn’t have a car, though there was plenty of off street parking. Just loved our three nights there.

We stay each year at Cedar Manor for a spring get away and every year we are greeted by the great team. Excellent hospitality, a true home from home experience by Caroline & Jonathan. The Housekeeping team always ensure the room is comfortable and cleaned to a very high degree. As for the breakfasts, well it’s a good job that there are plenty of challenging walks to do, as they are delicious and plentiful.

Absolutely stunning experience. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left nothing be too much trouble from our hosts. On arrival we had afternoon tea on the front lawn, which was to die for. Jonathan even plated up the excess and had it placed in the room. The attention to detail, the breakfast and the comfort and views from the room ( Coniston) were superb. Absolutely first class from the moment of walking through the door and order of calm and tranquility,the rooms and guest areas are immaculate with all the extras big corporate hotels forgot years ago.The breakfasts were of the highest standard of local produce and the afternoon tea as good as the Savoy.The owners I believe pride themselves on great customer service,my partner needed to work remotely after official check out time and they kindly found her a quiet area where she could work and provided her with coffee and water.It was I felt almost a privilege to stay here and will look forward to returning soon

This afternoon tea is a must if your either staying at the hotel or just on a visit to Windermere.But you need to book well in advance.We visited with family who had stayed at the hotel before.We opted to sit outside as it was a beautiful day.The gardens are well kept,a lovely setting.The service was excellent from the staff,including Jonathan the owner who was very chatty and helpful.We started with two mini savoury dishes,then sandwiches and finally mini Eton messes,cakes and scones.All was presented beautifully and tasted lovely.You get a choice of different teas too and coffee.It was a lovely afternoon and sitting outside really made it enjoyable.We would definitely recommend and would most probably stay here at the hotel if visiting the area again.

We have just returned from a wonderful three-night stay at Cedar Manor. We travelled by train from London and the location was perfect. An easy walk from the station and buses to all areas of interest can be picked up on the doorstep. As first time visitors to The Lakes, Jonathan provided details of how best to maximise our time, and his "itineraries" did not disappoint. The Manor itself is beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed a hearty breakfast, with lots of choice, to set us up for a day of exploring. Both Caroline and Jonathan were very welcoming and I wouldn't hestitate to recommend to others, and am looking forward to returning.

It’s Beautiful inside and out, hosts and staff are amazing. Breakfast was delicious , especially the smoked haddock, hollandaise and poached egg, didn’t have an afternoon tea, but we’ll go back and try one of those.

An absolutely amazing experience from start to finish!! The rooms were 1st class from cleanliness to comfort and size and great value for money and excellent customer service from the whole team. 10/10 and to top it all on our last day we had the afternoon tea!! Cannot express enough how wonderful an experience it was, fresh local food and quality and so much for your money, shouldn’t be saying this but way to low on price for such great food and service, again 1st class!! If you want something special this is one not to miss!! Thank you Jonathan and Caroline Kaye for making it such an unforgettable experience.
