Cedar Manor

A lovely stay in this fantastic location. Jonathon, Caroline and the team were very friendly and helped us decide on the stunning walks we took, providing us with the benefit of their local knowledge. The room was stylish yet cozy and had great facilities so it was perfect for our getaway. The hotel was well placed for nearby pubs and restaurants in Windermere and was also conveniently located near a bus stop.

It was very authentic and there was a great attention to detail. Caroline and Jonathan were both great hosts and the hotel is a credit to them. A real gem in the lakes!

I stayed here for a special treat. The property itself is beautiful and the staff were polite, but I found the management style from the lady a bit more blunt/rigid than I expected for a relaxing getaway. While the rooms and breakfast were lovely, I was a bit surprised by some unexpected rules from the lady at the check-in, such as being asked to remove my hiking boots at the entrance if they are muddy and walk to my room in my socks. I completely understand the need to protect the property, but it would have felt more like a 'guest' if slippers or a boot brush had been offered as an alternative. I also noticed a £2 conservation donation added to my cream tea bill that hadn't been mentioned when the price was quoted (I only noticed it after check out). While Cedar Manor is a beautiful hotel with a great team, these small moments with the lady unfortunately overshadowed my 'treat' stay. It’s a lovely place, but I felt it could be better.

It was a lovely room, really clean and well furnished.

We were made very welcome by Caroline and Jonathan. We had travelled to Windermere by train, Cedar Manor was a fairly easy 10 minutes walk from the station. Our room was very comfortable as was the sitting room downstairs. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice.
