"Great Service from Lovely People - I'll be back!"

8.0

Lovely hotel which; along with all of Vanuatu; clearly copped a battering in Cyclone Pam, was a few years old when that happened and is still recovering. So your first impression may be ho-hum. Hang in there. The location is fabulous. Its on the road to the airport and a short walk along the recently developed parklands around the bay to the middle of town and all the government offices, other restaurants and the tourist traps. However, its far enough away to allow a good quiet sleep and is close to some lovely beach hut style restaurants on the bay in the other direction. The view is better than that in the middle of town as you look out over the bay and the ocean and sunsets beyond. The rooms are more than adequate for a business or holiday stay and the views from the balcony in the room are stunning. The house staff do a really wonderful job each day - couldn't fault it. I was working and leaving early each day so I cooked breakfast in my room, everything worked well and in the evening when I returned, the room was spotless and the washing up was done. Because of its age and the after effects of the cyclone, there may be the odd maintenance issue, but they are dealt with efficiently and quickly. I had an issue with a noisy air-conditioner at 2am one morning - it was dealt with there and then. The restaurant serves basic hearty fare. I'm a sucker for a well made béarnaise so I'm happy. The staff make this place, they cant do enough to help, are well trained and happy.

"Can't fault the hotel really"

8.0

Hotel close to town. Service great. View from all rooms would be great. Ours on top floor, could do with some midday shade on the balcony though. Shower rose needs replacing. We went in January and the weather was great.

"This is not a resort hotel, but met our needs"

8.0

This was our choice due to size of the rooms, close proximity to town, easy to get transport. Local buses are passing by regularly. Staff are friendly and helpful. Downside, it is close to a busy road, but we use the car rental business attached to the hotel, good cars , great service. You do have to walk up a flight or two of stairs, BUT good for the body after eating all that rich food. Downside, had to lug our cases down 2 flights for early morning flight. Would love more shade on our deck, and and a comfortable chair or two. Ate in the hotel restaurant on several occasions, mostly good, but boring when staying for a longer period. Chef needs to learn to make curry, Hideaway Island do a good one by the way.! One gets very tired of fried food when away from home, you have great beef in Vanuatu, chilli con carne, even a steak and kidney pie would be very acceptable to your guests.

"Excellent location, Excellent staff. "

8.0

Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Would like to have seen greater option on the prepaid breakfast. If I had known there was limited choice I would not have included breakfast when purchasing the booking.

"Port Villa Hotel"

Part business stay, so the road is a bit noisy, but has a beach bar on the side. Full water view. Handy to everything.

"Great location"

10.0

The hotel is close to town centre and at the same time has great harbour views. The staff are always there to help and answer questions. Shaki is one of the best hotel managers we've have ever met. His broad smile is one of the many good memories we brought with us from Vanuatu . The restaurant food was nice although a little bit pricey. It is worth visiting a small organic food shop next door to the hotel. It has a variety of good quality products that you'll not find in town.

"Quiet business hotel on the edge of the Bay"

6.0

There is no elevator so pack lightly or ask for help with bags. All rooms are one or two floors up. View across the bay is wonderful and it is very quiet at night when the traffic dies down. Seems to be a business hotel so found it very quiet in the evenings. My room rate included breakfast. When I got there found it was just a continental breakfast. Its adequate but anything extra will cost you. Local business people and ex-pats seem to frequent the restaurant during the day which livens things up but at night it was very very quiet. Food was very nice though and staff are warm and attentive. Sofa bed (as a sofa) in the room needs replacing. Very uncomfortable to sit on. Very uncomfortable. Hot water ranged from luke warm to stone cold, no matter how long you ran the tap. Only found one TV channel that worked (Channel 7 from Queensland). Reported both the TV and hot water but neither was fixed during my 7 night stay. Found out on the second to last day that the hotel is associated with the new Ramada Hotel and that we could use the Ramada facilities. It was a bit late getting that information.

"Big Room with an Awesome View"

10.0

The hotel is superbly placed with beautiful uninhibited views of the habour. This is for the rooms, the restaurant and pool. It is an easy walk into the town centre and with the new seawall walk, a very pleasant walk at that. The staff were polite and helpful. Worth the stay.
