Chantillys on the Bay

Tidy, clean and relaxing. Great atmosphere, nice pool.

my friend and i booked a one bedroom apartment for 7 nights 3 months prior to arrival, on arrival we were told it wasn't available until the next day and were given a normal room to share (2 males) the next day they said again that it still wasn't available until tomorrow, however this time they agreed to giving us an extra room for the night, finally we got the room we booked on the third day, the place is run down and in need of refurbishment, no lift and no help so had to carry our luggage up to the third floor ourselves. There is much better accommodation on the island, the only good point about this place is the convenient location. Give it a wide berth.

hotel has 3 floors and no elevator we had an amazing view from the balcony the only let down was the bathroom door where you had to step into the shower recess to open or close the door

Overall was pretty good . Could do with a freshen up. Lacking maintenance and getting a bit dated. A bit dirty throughout. Restaurant was great and staff were friendly and always polite and helpful. Despite criticism, we enjoyed our stay and Would stay again.

The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Port Vila. It’s outdoor and public areas are lovely. Rooms have great views but are a bit run down and shabby. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

I have mixed feeling about this place. First, upon arrival, I was place in a studio instead of the one bedroom I booked, but they didn't even acknowledge it. So, if I hadn't noticed then I would have been paying for a much more expensive room. They didn't offer compensation for this until I asked and I was offered a free breakfast. This is fine for the inconvenience of having to move rooms the next day, but in no way was equivalent to the price difference. Lights in my room were burnt out, some of the dishes and utensils were filthy, and the place is a bit worn. That said, I'm not sure that Port Vila has a better option. The location is good, the view is fantastic, the front desk person was amazingly helpful, and the food was quite nice.

Hotel was very accommodating and friendly putting in an extra bed when we arrived, able to check in early. Great in room facilities, sea views from the balcony, clean and walking distance to town

We've just been to stay at Chantilly's for the 5th time. We like it because it is right on the water and is self contained and we can cook our own meals if we wish. However, I was bitten by the bed bugs living in the arm of a couch I sat on in the foyer area downstairs. They bit my left arm and left me with an itchy rash. The manager I spoke to said it was too expensive to get rid of the couch, so had it fumigated for a second time (obviously fumigation didn't work the first time). I was a bit taken aback by his attitude, as bed bugs are very hard to eradicate. I hope they don't spread to the rooms.

Will start with the good. The staff, all very nice and helpfull especially Saki... The location is good with an easy pleasent stroll to town. The restaurant was also good and meals were all ok. Wifi worked well.The not so good. The rooms are old and poorly equipped. The lounge suite was not far off taking to the tip. The kitchen was also pretty ordinary so didnt really want to use it. Bathroom was also not good. Stained toilet bowl and lid. Shower had mould and screen was covered in soap scum. Its a shame as im sure it was a great place when new.
