Chapung Sebali Resort

a great room in a very peaceful hotel in Ubud - rather too many stairs to dining and communal pool - excellent service and good food. L location peaceful but 20 minute drive to central Ubud for restaurants or shopping

Third time at Chapung. Villas are spacious with great design. Pool in villa is heavenly, very hot whilst we were in Bali and the villa pool was the only pool we found over the 3 week stay that was actually refreshing. Due to the heat and the fact that there is a lot of glass in the villa construction, aircon struggled a bit to cool the room, not really a problem but no sheet just a doona on the bed so meant had to sleep on top of the doona. About 10 mins drive out of Ubud with a very good free shuttle service available into town for drop offs and pick ups. Huge new resort pool and pool club has both pluses and minuses. Pluses are it's beautiful and great to lay by with a cocktail. Minuses are it's attracting a large crowd of budget tourists,(who pay a small amount to enter) some who arrive early in the morning to scatter bags over all of the best spots and then depart for a few hours expecting to return to resume there positions. When you're paying $300 plus a night to stay in the resort you shouldn't have to scramble for a spot by the pool. Also in this serene idyllic spot, really bad, extremely loud electronic music is played all day long. Often the same CD seemed to be on repeat. It was so loud it was drowning out my own ipod. I overheard both young and older people complaining about it.

Pure heaven. A lot of resorts in Ubud claim to be luxury and all for the guest, but are actually tourist traps where they over charge you at every opportunity. This is not the case with Chapung SeBali - the resort is pure luxury, private room overlooking rice fields, private pool and incredible facilities (spa, infinity pool over the mountain side, restaurants and shuttle servce to Ubud) and all of the extras you may want to indulge in are reasonably priced, excellent service and excellent quality - a rare hotel in a very tourist area where you are treated like a guest and not as a walking credit card. Would infinitely recommend again.

The Chapung Sebali resort was a terrific jumping off point to explore Ubud and a great Oasis when it was time to relax. We are a family of 6 and their family Villa housed us all luxuriously. It is a small resort and never feels crowded. Our entire family had a very reasonably priced massage. The beautiful pool is open to the public during the afternoon so it is lively with guests from resorts in town with lesser pools. You can also have privacy in your own villa pool. Don't miss the great 45 minute and scenic walk to Ubud along the path that leaves from just out front.

Nice Villa In Ubud

We stayed as a group of three adults for a relaxing time. They kindly upgraded our room which was a lovely surprise. The villa was beautiful and luxurious with a very clean private plunge pool - actually so spacious that all three of us could swim in it! We used the Spa twice which was wonderful. The staff really tried hard to meet any requests and they seemed so cheerful. Breakfast was presented excellently with a good choice of fresh smoothies/juices and coffees/teas. They have an a la carte menu which is inclusive (free) and portions were generous and always fresh. Eggs Benedict was a favourite as were pancakes and crepes! Fresh fruit platter was delicious and couldn't ask for more! We could have sat there all morning, enjoying the view and fabulous surroundings. We didn't find the pool work noisy and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay again but not with young children because it is not really baby/toddler friendly (because water and lilly ponds are all around). It is a fantastic retreat to nature and tranquility! Location is good with free shuttle into Ubud, taking about 20-30 mins. We dined at the hotel one evening and ate in Ubud for the other 3 evenings and didn't find it inconvenient at all. We even walked. leisurely, to Ubud one day and really enjoyed the scenery and local galleries and cafes on the way.

It was beyond what the pictures looked like. Pure heaven. Wish I could have stayed longer. View, Service, food, and rooms were impeccable. Can't wait to come back! =)

A perfect small resort a short car ride from Ubud. Great to be able to relax in such beautiful surroundings during the day and travel into Ubud for a meal at one of the great restaurants. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Villa was spacious and totally comfortable. Would recommend it unreservedly.
