Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Alvarado by IHG

Worst experience ever! DO NOT STAY HERE! Long story short, the customer service was the worst I have ever experienced and the hotel is outdated. We were inconvenienced after I drove 5 hours and my sister flew 7 hours to meet here. We had to pay for another hotel room at La Quinta, which I highly recommend. We have filed a complaint with corporate and waiting to see if corporate makes this right for us. Please see my review on Expedia (long version there). My recommendation is for Holiday Inn to invest some money on their customer service training, screen your employees better, and invest some money on the hotel. Never ever will my sister or I stay at any Holiday Inn.

The beds were super comfortable and kitchenette was nice. Plenty of room for three adults and two teenagers.

Quietness

The Hotel gave out a receipt to an unidentified person with my personal and confidential information on it without my consent after I requested them to send a copy of the receipt to the email address on file and when I called them after the fact the Lady name Shona was very rude and unprofessional not to mentioned talking about HOOK UPS AND MY WIFE AND I’M NOT MARRIED, this was her justification for breach of confidentiality of my personal information and privacy and I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION FOR HER ACTIONS

This property is very worn out and not clean. The pool has paint worn off in several places and looked dirty and murky. The hot tub was even worse. The carpet is stained and worn. The staff were all nice and helpful but unfortunately, this property is in terrible shape and needs immediate renovations and thorough cleaning.

AC leaked in the floor.

First we got there and staff was excellent. Gave us our room key and went to the room. First walked in and smelled mildew. Didn’t think anything of it because I’m not the type to complain. Well the carpet felt sticky. Wouldn’t let the little one run around without shoes. Then the shower didn’t work nor would the water get hot. It was like warm. After the first night my wife had it with the smell. Told the front and switched rooms no question. Staff again excellent! New room so much better! Carpet felt clean, shower worked, smelled better. BUT, the a/c barely blew all night. Put it as low as it could go and nothing. Slept with the sheets and no blanket. Got the family up at 4am and left back home.

We had a wedding and the employee wouldn’t help us at all in making sure we have our room ready even when we called with 2 weeks of anticipation. The employee told me to call the day of and I did twice and she didn’t prioritize us as we had given anticipation. Please don’t stay here if you plan to go to a wedding as the staff won’t be able to accommodate.
