Sweeney Hall Hotel

Electric shower was very poor and wouldnt regulate, it was either freezing cold or scolding, also had to run around in the shower to get wet. The toilet cistern kept continually filling and the saniflo system was very noisy throughout the night. Nice setting and beautiful property but just lacking in care and maintenance. Could do with a good refurb.

Friendly good breakfast. Double bed prefer all king size at least. Lovely grounds relaxing overnight stay and value for money.

Really good stave and service to a point, when asked if the meal we were having was ok are reply was ignored. The meat was dry and the stay was marred by the lack of interest.

Very good overall experience, food very good, excellent varied menu, excellent coffee, excellent ice cream ! Super beds and bedding, hip height, may be difficult for some to get into! Lovely large characterful rooms. Only issue was lack of service at breakfast, after 10 minutes waiting had to go and find some staff, but then food came quickly. Beware currently restaurant is being renovated, we booked a meal in the restaurant and weren’t told about this. ( we had our meal in the bar which was cold as staff had to take food outside through the door in the bar) Overall though nice staff, enjoyable stay and would recommend.

Staff were brilliant. Really friendly and attentive. However, we booked the ‘bridal suite’ which was the best room and whilst it was nice, it wasn’t mind-blowing. Bathroom was very dated, jacuzzi bath very small and the tv was small considering it was miles away from the gorgeous bed! The steaks we had for the evening meal were terrible but to be fair we were refunded. Breakfast though, was amazing. Disappointing for the price generally

Great team service by all the staff in this historic hotel. Food was very good.

Fantastic attention to detail, staff not over bearing with service but just right, will be returning for another visit.

Nice boutique hotel will return next year
