Friendly, helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Good food.

Ensuite was rather outdated but plenty of hot water. No chairs in the bedroom.

Good location in the centre. Nice old fashioned Hotel perfectly comfortable. Good value and great breakfast.best haggis ever.

I booked this room for my friend and her pets for two nights and from booking to staying and then collecting her when she checked out, everything was made so easy. My questions were answered so quickly and I asked if she could check in early and the staff very quickly got back to me and said no problem. The staff we lovely, the person at the desk who I met when I came in to collect my friend and her belongings was so kind and so helpful to us both. I cannot speak more highly of the staff and the whole experience. The price was incredibly reasonable and the fact that pets are welcome is brilliant, it took so much stress out of the situation and the hotel itself had such a nice atmosphere.

There was nothing I didn't like. Everything was exactly what was needed and then some.

The location is fantastic! You're in the heart of Melrose so you can easily walk to the Abby (maybe a 4 min walk) and all of the shops and restaurants. The hotel's pub was also nice. It had live music the Saturday night we were there, and we really enjoyed it. The parking is also excellent and very easy. Some of the folks who worked there were very nice.

The hotel is on the older side and a bit run down. The room we stayed looked a bit...tired. Our bathroom was a little challenging. The toilet seat was sort of broken, and there were no grip bars or safety mats in the shower. In general, I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you have any mobility issues. There is no elevator, and the bathroom isn't fall-safe. Also, outlets for charging phones/devices were not super easily accessible.

Location and breakfast fine

My room was located near a door in the corridor and guests staying there who retired to their rooms rather late disturbed me.
