Bell House Hotel & Restaurant

The staff were very welcoming and friendly nothing to much trouble. Left before breakfast was served the hotel prepared me some sandwiches which I thought was good of them.

Overnight stay convenient for Castle Combe circuit. Good room, good food, good service, good value for money. just what was needed. Would happily return on our next outing to Combe.

Very basic room in a country hotel, but good value for the money. Already booked another stay. Excellent breakfast included.

Hotel in need of modernisation. The particular room where I was staying had a very old fashioned bathroom, a shower attached to the bath which didn't work and no cold water for the bath. The TV only had a few channels. There were also clothes left in the wardrobe from a previous guest which make you believe whether housekeeping had actually done their job. Fine for one night but anything longer would have been very annoying. Overall, not the best place I have stayed in. On a positive note the staff were very helpful and friendly and the food excellent.

Manager helpful & friendly. Hotel in process of upgrade but not yet achieved all renewals needed. Nice location and good bar. Did not use restaurant.

All Ok

Arrived to find hotel open but deserted, so impossible to check in. Transpired that owner was stuck in traffic, but no excuse. The hotel is in a lovely village. It is externally attractive, and as a pub it seems jolly and popular with the locals. The interior and bedrooms are scruffy and in need of refurbishment. Our bathroom initially appeared to have no hot water. After running the shower for several minutes there was scalding water, which would not mix. The bathroom was without ventilation. My husband says it's the worst hotel he's stayed in since he left Afghanistan. I think that's a bit harsh. A bit. We shall not be staying there again. Breakfast was good.

Room dirty, hadn't been hoovered and a layer of dust everywhere, shower didn't work. Stairwell smelt of vomit. Whole place needs a clean and lick of paint. Bed comfortable and breakfast good. Wouldn't stay again.
