The Redlands

This is more like a self-catering spot than a bed and breakfast, although when they get the kitchen up and running that might change. Good location near the airport and NEC but on a quiet street which made it nice. The cabin was tiny, though - no space for even a chair, wardrobe, or a luggage rack, but did have a microwave and mini-fridge. The staff made it a "Very Good" rating - they brought in an iron and board and clothes hangers on request, and were very helpful with local advice. Come expecting something a little different and you'll be satisfied.

This place was wonderful great room with everything you would need for your stay.The family that own it were so welcoming lovely friendly people.The place was very clean in a lovely garden setting.If the couple could help with any thing they certainly did.I would 100% recommend this place.I would stay again.

My daughter and I have just stayed overnight at The Redlands to see the Little Mix concert at the nearby arena. We got a very warm welcome from the lovely couple who run the guesthouse, the room was clean and warm and we had everything we needed for a lovely stay. We look forward to coming back again one day. Thank you!

Does what it say's on the tin. Clean & comfortable;e. the hosts very helpful. Good option for airport stays. Uber & taxi's in easy reach.

A warm welcome from Pali and H. The chalet was spotlessly clean, warm and a nice comfy bed. The shower and toilet were also spotless. Lots of storage for clothes and good tea/coffee making facilities. Tea/coffee/water/biscuits/cups/bowls/cutlery and a tea towel. Nice quiet area in a gated area. Really nice comfy two day stay with very friendly and helpful staff.

Found the place ok but would help with a sign down the road so you know you are going the right way room was adequate no frills but everything you needed the hosts are a very lovely couple just starting out with this business I am sure they will make a success with it. breakfast was very good top ingredients all the best Andy & Jo

I stayed with the Mrs last month as we were in the area for an event at the NEC. The guesthouse is a bit tricky to find as the signage isn't the clearest, but once we knew we was in the right place we had a warm welcome. The accommodation is small but perfectly formed, and it's got a charming character. The bathroom was a little rough around the edges, but nothing major. Yes, the guesthouse is near the airport, but I wouldn't sound the noise pollution was intrusive. The cooked breakfast was lovely, the property itself is well decorated, and it was well priced, so overall it was a happy stay!

I paid £119 for one night stay in a poorly insulated garage conversion. It was a frosty night and it got colder and colder. I awoke to no heating or hot water and boiled the kettle to have a wash. At breakfast I mentioned to the owner that it had been an uncomfortable night. He said that the trip switch had blown again. I do not feel I received value for money. I have written to the owner twice and booking.com but no replies. This has left me no choice but to post a 1 star rating. If the owner reads this.... Please try sleeping in that room with no heating on a cold night. It would help you to understand how unpleasant it was.

We stayed here as we were meant to be going to a gig at the worlds resort. This was changed at the last min but decided to stay with guest house. Whilst the bathroom needed a little tlc, the living area was great & accommodating. The chalet style rooms were quaint & unique. The owners were lovely (they took over the business about 6m previous). The gig was now in b’ham. They told us the best way to get there (taxi to local t/station then train it to b’ham). This was the quickest option & saved us ££‘S!! The breakfast was everything inc yoghurts, fruit & of course the oblig cooked brekky which was lovely. Everything we wanted & a nice sized portion! Lost a few marks for bathroom and would’ve given 4.5 score!

Very close to the NEC. Plenty of parking and plenty of eating options at the NEC
