When I arrived I was greeted with a warm welcome. A family run guest house in beautiful peaceful surroundings. The chalet type accommodation is homely, clean and comfortable. With tea /coffee making facilities, a fridge and a microwave. Breakfast which was excellent a full English was offered along with a great selection of cereals, toast (which you make yourself 😊) preserves, tea/coffee and juice. This was served in the light and airey conservatory. A great place, friendly proprietors, good food, great surroundings, and easy access to lots of attractions. My 2 night stay was perfect, thank you I will return and I'd highly recommend Redland Guest House to anyone needing a place to stay in Birmingham.

"Hidden Gem"

10.0

My father and I stayed here for one night to attend a concert in the NEC and from the second we arrived, it was like being greeted by family. The chalet style accommodation was clean, roomy and the grounds surrounding us were lovely in the sunshine. The owners were so helpful with our every request from ordering taxis to an early breakfast which set us up for our flight home. I'd definitely recommend this little gem for access to the airport or tge NEC and if the owner holds to his plans for refurbishment I can see this place really taking off. Best of luck to them too because they were lovely hosts to us!

Loved our stay, very close to NEC. Owner's were new to the business, they made us very welcome and was eager to please. New owner's are in the process of updating/improving an already great B & B. Qould definitely recommend.

"Worst night ever"

2.0

I booked a room for two nights so that I could attend a conference in the nearby NEC. On first arrival, it appeared to be quite nice but needed some minor sprucing in the room. Due to a long day travelling, I was tired and tried to settle down around 9pm, Voices from the room next door could be heard but not too much of a problem as I was very tired. Unfortunately, I do snore - this has a very negative impact on my neighbours who banged on the wall to such a degree that the noise resonated around the room. This continued every time I fell asleep. At around 12.30, after being woken up for the third or fourth time, I went to make myself a cuppa but found that the electric sockets were not working - no cuppa, no TV, no bedside lights, no charging of portable devices. By this time I was now fed up, no response from the house where the owners were, so I went to sleep in my car. Next morning, I went to the reception and advised them of what had happened and I was checking out as I was not able to sleep in the room. I asked for a refund for the second night that I was not able to stay, but was advised that they needed to do it through the booking agency, even though I paid for the room at the hotel on arrival. After I contacted the booking agency, and they contacted the hotel, I was told that the hotel refused to refund me any money as I decided to check out early. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU SNORE OR IF YOU WANT A ROOM WITH THE SMALLEST LEVEL OF SOUNDPROOFING

"Ended up sleeping in the car, not good!"

2.0

Arrived at the ā€œhotel’ which looks like a very impressive building but on checking in was to find that the rooms are small shallots which look like summer houses in the garden. The room was small but comfortable with a small en-suite. The tv reception eas very poor from the indoor aerial and most of the power in the room was supplied from a 4 plug extension cord from a damaged plug, plugged into a single socket in the wall. In the evening, it was clear that the walls were very thin as I could clearly hear the guests next door. After a long day I went to sleep - unfortunately I have a tendency to snore a little which was obviously heard by the guests next door, who hammered on the wall to make a noise that woke me up and resonated around the entire room like it was a cave. This continued to happen three or four times until at around 01:30 when I got up (partly out of frustration of being woken up every time I went to sleep and party out of fear as it sounded like the people next door we’re about to come through the wall) to find that the electric sockets no longer worked so could not boil the kettle. I the left the room and went to sleep in my car. The next morning I checked out but refused to give me any refund claiming that it would need to be done through Hotels.com - even though I paid at the hotel not online.

Speedy check in, friendly staff. The new owners had only had the property for 6 weeks so quite new to the business and expect to update and make improvements to the cabin accommodation. We did not use the microwave or fridge but a useful addition to the room. Comfortable bed, clean, and the room adequate for our overnight stay. Excellent breakfast., freshly cooked and a large portion. Would visit again

I was a little surprised to see this venue. The house is a private residence. The staff were polite and welcoming and the room was clean. The room in which we stayed however was part of a converted double garage with a number of other ā€˜chalets’ in the garden. There were double glass doors leading directly into the room opposite which was the ā€˜office’ and the pathway leading to the car park area. I felt like a fish in a glass bowl. Short of drawing the curtains and turning on the light there was no choice or privacy. Breakfast was preordered by request of the owners - Sadly there was only sliced white bread . No pastries, croissant, rolls or brown bread at all. The cooked breakfast was fine.

Property in need of TLC and is probably ongoing as it is under new ownership. Close to airport, station and NEC. Service was very good, everyone was pleasant and willing to help.
